A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the 2014 Converse CONS Weapon Collection Launch Event

The new, highly anticipated Converse CONS Weapon Collection was introduced at the Goodfellas Gallery in downtown Toronto, Canada on Thursday evening, May 29th. The assemblage includes five premium lifestyle and skate sneakers, including a revamped and updated classic in the form of the Converse CONS Weapon.

“I had the pleasure of working on updating and refining the Weapon, but I didn’t want to stray too far away from the sneaker’s iconic elements,” said Chris Law, the Design Director of Converse CONS.” There are minimal differences, such as the emphasizing of the name of the shoe on the tongue because originally the CONS product during the early 90s was all about big tongue branding before a lot of other brands did it.”

Law also discussed the new function of the patented Y-Bar, another intricate characteristic on the revamped Weapon. For the first time, the Y-Bar is incorporated inside the shoe and is comprised of memory foam to act as another element of comfort. Also, the Chevron logo is anchored to the eyestay instead of floating in the middle of the side panel like on the original design.

Following a detailed description of the new-look Weapon, Law discussed the upcoming, themed Weapon releases, such as the Converse CONS Weapon Patchwork, which features a kaleidoscope of iconic colors in contrasting colors; the Ray Pack, which sports a heathered contrast dark-and-light gray jersey and the Reflective Mesh Pack, which incorporates a reflective material.

Following the rundown of the new designs, the celebration continued with performances by a number of hip hop acts, including the legendary Ghostface Killah and Sheek Louch from The Lox. Other notables in attendance were Converse Skate Ambassadors Eli Reed, Tom Remillard and Nick Moore, hip-hop duo The Airplane Boys, and band BADBADNOTGOOD.

The Converse CONS Weapon will be available for purchase globally starting on Friday, June 13 at select retailers including Converse and Undefeated stores in the U.S., and at Patta in Amsterdam.

Nike LeBron 11 “Vice City” Customs by Shoekings Las Vegas

nike-lebron-11-vice-city-customs-by-shoekings-las-vegasThose Air Jordan 6 “O” custom, Oregon Duck themed kicks had the sneakerheads in a frenzy, and now we’ve got another pair of kicks from Shoekings Las Vegas for you!

The Nike LeBron 11 “Vice City” customs by Shoekings Las Vegas feature the classic South Beach colorway, but with palm tree leaves decorating the overlays. Grey takes over the base of the sneakers, with the raised overlays arriving in turquoise. The palm tree leaves that cover the overlays appear in lighter and darker tones of turquoise, creating a monochromatic aesthetic that is absouletly beautiful. Bubble gum pink attacks the lacing and Nike Swoosh that strikes along the inside of the shoes. A mint green dominates the outsole. Black can be found on the midfoot paneling and tongues, while a secret floral print appears on the interior lining.

The South Beach theme is showing no signs of dying anytime soon, and we don’t want to see it go either! SKLV knocked this custom out of the park, and definitely put their own spin on this popular colorway. The main inspiration for these customs were the Nike LeBron 11 NSW Lifestyle “Miami Vice” kicks, but if exclusive shoes are more up your alley, then consider purchasing your own pair of Nike LeBron 11 “Vice City” customs from Shoekings Las Vegas! Check out some more shots of these shoes down below!
