The Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” Tracks Back to MJ’s Second Retirement

The Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” was originally released back in 1999, an influential period in sports, pop culture and political correctness. This coming Saturday, October 3, the Air Jordan 14 Low “Laney” returns for the first time in 15 years. Bursting with color thanks to Varsity Royal and Maize hues, take another look at the “Laney” lows and let us know if you plan to cop this weekend.

New Balance Readies The 530 For Fall

New Balance brought back the New Balance 530 in style last year, and things have been just swell for the oft-forgotten retro runner ever since. The silhouette is definitely a head-turner for New Balance thanks to a unique midsole that’s sleeker than plenty of archival models and even takes things a step further thanks to the boldest tongue branding in NB’s lineup. All of those advancements haven’t stopped the colorists over in Boston from draping the 530 in a rather familiar New Balance aesthetic, as a soft grey suede coincides with a premium navy leather on the side panels to contrast with autumn ready shades of burgundy and tan. It’s been almost a year since Ronnie Fieg helped boost this runner to prevalence with an autumn inspiration of his own, so this look is only fitting. Continue onward for a better view of the NB 530 and stay tuned for more retro running updates right here on Sneaker News.

Concepts x Diadora N.9000 “Lire” – Release Date

The creative crew at Cambridge’s Concepts is making their penchant for cash and currency known once again with their upcoming Diadora partnership. This upcoming release is inspired by the old Lire currency of Italy, with colors grabbed from the 500,000 Lire note (the highest of value). This is almost like an Italian version of their widely praised “C-Note” with New Balance from a few years back, which combined the American sneaker brand with its respective highest-valued dollar bill. The Concepts x Diadora N.9000 “Lire” is exclusive to Concepts Cambridge and cncptsintl.com on October 3rd with an MSRP of 5. Shoes will come packaged with three sets of laces and a unique box.

The Nike Air Max 95 Sneakerboot is Here

Much like other Air Max silhouettes that have adapted boot-like aesthetics, the Nike Air Max 95 is the latest to strap up for cooler climate with combative features that resemble your favorite boot.

The Nike Air Max 95 Sneakerboot, after 20 years as a running/trainer shoe, transforms into something completely removed from its original concept. Originally designed by Sergio Lozano, who also has history with Nike’s ACG line, sees his foundational creation lean towards All Conditions Gear heritage with an extension wrap complete with zipper leading to the ankle support, while many other elements of the shoe remain intact.

Debuting in black and utilitarian green monotone colorways, give the Nike Air Max 95 Sneakerboot a look below and expect the US release sometime next month. Nike Europe retailers will stock the shoe October 1.

The Nike Free Mercurial Superfly “Pure Platinum” Arrives Sooner Than You Think

What’s not to like about the Nike Free Flyknit Mercurial Superfly? The soccer inspiration has made a killing by transferring over to the Nike Sportswear lineup, as the soccer-boot aesthetic saw the cleat bottom replaced by the ubiquitous Nike Free 5.0 outsole. Part chukka part head-turning new age creation, the Mercurial Superfly utilizes Flyknit to near-perfection here thanks to a tonal white and black harkening back to such classic releases like the initial Nike Flyknit Racers that were such crowd pleasers. The bulkiness of the pant roll in these images might not do the model justice, just have your joggers ready if you plan on copping given the form-fit ankle collar.  Available now at select overseas retailers, be on the lookout for this pair to hit retailers this October. Check out more photos below and let us know if you’re a fan of the model by taking your thoughts to the comments.

The premium suede and mesh upper blends aquamarine and pink accents, with special details including “500000” embroidered on the heel and subtle 3M backing on the Diadora logo. Custom sockliners complete the look. Retailing for 5, the made in Italy kicks launch October 3rd at Concepts’ Cambridge location and online.

October Releases Begin To Be Unveiled By Ewing Athletics

Ewing Athletics continues to bring the heat atop some of Patrick Ewing’s most iconic retro sneakers. Back in the day Pat was signed to adidas but made the trailblazing move to represent himself in the sneaker game by slapping his name in bold letters on the tongue of his own silhouette. The likes of the Ewing 33 Hi and the Ewing Focus spent some time missing in action before seeing a proper retro a few years back and now that the ball is rolling, new tonal and lifestyle creations are creating a deep roster of coveted Ewing kicks. The latest October releases see a vibrant array of primary colors land on the 33 Hi, as a navy base sees yellow branding contrast a bright red lining. The Focus returns too in a limited edition Castlerock/Reflective 3M aesthetic too. Stay tuned for more info in the future but expect each pair to drop mid-October. More photos below.

Custom “Yeezy 1” Tubular X Pack

Custom Yeezy 1 Tubular X Pack

After severing ties with his former brand partner, Kanye West has lobbed enough bombs and burned enough bridges that he’s all but guaranteed he won’t be collaborating with Nike ever again. French sneaker artist J31 Custom, on the other hand, isn’t quite done with Kanye’s history with the Swoosh. He’s managed to bridge the past and present by creating Yeezy 1-inspired colorways of the adidas Tubular X, showcasing a near flawless execution of the hybrid sneakers. Check out detailed looks at each colorway in the following pages.
