Jamal Murray Dons ’90s Nuggets-themed adidas Crazy Explosive Custom

On Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks, the Denver Nuggets hosted ’90s Night, where they honored team legends like Robert Pack and LaPhonso Ellis. To celebrate the special night, Nuggets guard Jamal Murray laced up a custom pair of the adidas Crazy Explosive that featured Denver’s classic logo from the ’90s.

Sporting Denver’s ’90s colors of navy blue, red and gold color throughout the entire silhouette, Murray’s Crazy Explosive also featured an old school Nuggets logo on one side and his No. 27 on the other. A sparkly sole with gold accents completes the look, which is reminiscent of the ABA-themed adidas Crazy Explosive Murray rocked earlier this season.

BRONX NEWS: Bronx man dies after trying to grab cop’s gun while cuffed

A Bronx man died in police custody Sunday after he tried to grab a cop’s gun while cuffed in his apartment, then lost consciousness as officers subdued him, authorities said.

When officers arrived at the Reservoir Ave. apartment in Jerome Park just after 4:50 p.m., a 71-year-old man told them his son, who cops later identified as Dwayne Pritchett, 48, was refusing to come out of his bedroom.

The son suddenly opened the door in the third-floor apartment, and cops saw a handgun magazine on the floor, according to police.

They entered the room and cuffed him, but Pritchett tried to grab an officer’s gun from its holster, authorities said.

NYPD detective fatally shoots sword-wielding man in Bronx

Cops pulled him from the room, forcing him to the floor, sources said.

It wasn’t immediately clear how Pritchett was subdued, though sources said the officers did not use a Taser.

Cops found drug paraphernalia and a gun in his bedroom, sources said.

“Be advised, the EDP (emotionally disturbed person) is having a mental episode. He locked himself in the bedroom. He is not on his medication. No weapons,” a police radio dispatcher told arriving officers assigned to the 50th Precinct.

NYPD cop shot dead, another injured in shootout with Bronx gunman

“EDP is fighting, needs to be contained, in custody?” the police radio dispatcher is heard saying at about 5:14 p.m.

At some point, the man lost consciousness, and arriving medics, thinking he may have been overdosing on drugs, tried to revive him with naloxone, sources said.

Medics took him to New York Presbyterian/The Allen Hospital, where he died just before 6:45 p.m., according to sources.

The medical examiner will determine how he died, and the NYPD’s Force Investigation Division is looking into his death.

Police still had Pritchett’s apartment building blocked off early Monday as they investigated.

BRONX NEWS: Boy, 5, who was shot in Bronx back in hospital with infection

He made a miraculous recovery once — now his family is counting on him to do it again.

Jaheem Hunter — an inspiring Bronx boy who endured months of grueling surgeries and rehab after being hit in the head with a stray bullet on his fifth birthday — is back in the hospital after spending a few precious weeks home with his family.

The new complication reversed much of the progress that allowed him to return to his sister’s Yonkers home two weeks before Christmas after six months in the hospital and rehab.

“It’s a step back,” his sister and guardian Aja Holmes told the Daily News. “He did not want to go back (to the hospital). I felt so bad for him.”

Boy, 5, rushed to hospital after recovering from Bronx shooting

During his first go-round in the hospital and rehab, surgeons performed a tracheotomy and two cranioplasties on Jaheem — one to remove part of his skull and the other to fuse it back in.

But an unexpected infection has forced doctors to remove the plate and he once again has to wear a helmet to protect the soft spot in his skull.

“He woke up and he just started crying and touching his head, trying to tell me his head was hurt,” Holmes said of little Jaheem after the latest surgery.

The tough tyke was stepping out of his father’s Morrisania apartment on June 5 when a gunman with a long criminal record opened fire at a rival over a drug deal.

A slug pierced Jaheem’s skull. He was rushed to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia for lifesaving care. The boy was later transferred to Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Westchester County, where he slowly learned to talk, walk and write again.

Doctors discharged him in December, allowing him to spend the holidays with his family — and several special guests. A trifecta of Knicks visited to drop off presents and play a game of hoops with him.

But on the morning of Dec. 30, Holmes found him lying on the floor speaking incoherently.

“He was drooling, bumping into things,” said Holmes, who now splits her time between visiting Jaheem, caring for her own 5-year-old son and working a full-time job.

Boy, 5, shot in Bronx thrilled to celebrate Christmas with family

Doctors were concerned Jaheem suffered a stroke. But a CAT scan revealed he had fluid in his head and his white blood cell count had spiked, indicating an infection. Jaheem’s medical team was hopeful they could wait out the infection and avoid another surgery, but his head began to swell.

“The fluid that was in his head burst out of his head and onto the pillow,” Holmes said. I was trying to explain to him that he had a boo-boo on his head and they needed to check it out.”

He will be at Blythedale for the next two months as doctors make sure his infection clears.

He’ll eventually have to endure another surgery — in which doctors will likely replace the missing part of his skull with titanium mesh. As he continues to grow, the mesh will have to be continually replaced.

Boy, 5, takes first steps three months after being shot in Bronx

But Jaheem’s fighting spirit has inspired people to come to his aid.

Long Island philanthropist Sandra Atlas Bass reached out to Holmes last week to make a donation. Bass made one request when she spoke to Holmes — that the family use the money to buy Jaheem a present he really wants.

“To see a little boy suffer like that, it just went to my heart,” Bass said.

Holmes said she stays awake at night thinking of Jaheem’s future. “He’s bounced right on back,” she said. “But is he going to continue to be strong enough?”

BRONX NEWS: Bronx teacher snags Music Educator Award at Grammys

Bronx music teacher Melissa Salguero didn’t have to go far to enjoy the Grammys, and her ,000 award for making tunes at school.

The P.S. 48 Joseph R. Drake Elementary School teacher in Hunts Point snagged the 2018 Music Educator Award and joined a sea of celebs at Madison Square Garden Sunday night.

Late night host and Grammys emcee James Corden gave Salguero a shoutout for making “a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music” before introducing comic Dave Chappelle.

“Thank you for everything you do for the next generation,” Corden told Salguero. “Really, really incredible.”

Janelle Monáe gives stirring Time’s Up speech at Grammys

Salguero went up against music educators in Tennessee, California, Iowa, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Washington. She was a semifinalist for the award in 2017.

She has taught at P.S. 48 since 2010 and before that, Salguero told the Daily News in 2015 that the school lacked a music program.

The big win will land her a ,000 award from the Recording Academy and GRAMMY Museum with matching grants.
