BRONX NEWS: Creep busted for stalking, raping disabled Bronx woman

A registered sex offender with a decade-long history of deviant arrests has been busted for stalking and raping a disabled Bronx woman, police said Wednesday.

Unga Smith, 40, followed the 64-year-old victim, who uses a walker, to her Norwood home at 6:30 p.m. Monday, then pushed his way into her apartment and violated her, cops said.

Police released surveillance photos and video to the public Tuesday night, and a tip led cops to Smith.

Smith, who also goes by the first name Ugan, is a repeat sex offender who lives in transitional housing at the Bronx Psychiatric Center, according to state records.

He has three other rape arrests dating back to 2009, sources said, and he’s been convicted of forcible touching and multiple counts of attempted sexual abuse.

In 2013, he was locked up for breaking the state’s sex offender registry law and sentenced to a one-to-three year prison term.

He also served time for a 1998 attempted burglary conviction on Long Island.

Smith was free on his own recognizance after a Nov. 15 attempted assault arrest.

He allegedly attacked a 66-year-old man waiting at a bus stop outside the psychiatric center.

He’s charged with rape, robbery, burglary, criminal sex act and sexual abuse for the Norwood case.
