BRONX NEWS: Family of Bronx boy allegedly injured by cop asks for justice

The mother of a 14-year-old Bronx boy critically injured after a cop allegedly tossed him through a hookah bar window met with prosecutors Thursday to demand justice.

During the meeting at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office, Javier Payne’s mom, Cherita Payne, was given assurances that the May 17 incident is being thoroughly investigated.

“What my family came here for is justice,” said Javier’s sister, Christina. She said her brother has been “tormented by this situation.”

The family’s lawyer, Sanford Rubenstein, asked potential witnesses or anyone with video of the incident to come forward.

Sgt. Eliezer Pabon was placed on modified duty on May 23 after video surveillance footage captured him shoving the teen from behind, sources said.
