BRONX NEWS: Man found dead in Bronx believed to be victim of hypothermia


A homeless man who died in the Bronx is believed to be a victim of hypothermia during the city’s record cold snap, officials said.


The 51-year-old victim was found face down outside on E. Gun Hill Road and Young Ave. in Williamsbridge about 5:25 a.m. Saturday, police said. His clothes were covered in lice.


The city Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death but police believe he froze to death. The low was 6 degrees Saturday.


His name was not immediately released, but sources said the victim was carrying a driver’s license with a Hopewell, Va., address.
