Over the course of the year, Michael Porter Jr. has been the biggest star in high school basketball. Winning Gatorade Player of the Year honors and also winning the Missouri State Championship, all his accolades have come in style. How so? We asked just which sneakers he was getting buckets in while on the road to success.
“This past season, I have been hooping in Jordans,” recalls Michael. “The Retro 13s and the Space Jam 11s. More importantly, I won the State Championship in the Space Jam 11s. Those feel pretty comfortable so that’s what I am rocking for now.”
See for yourself in the photos below and congrats to Michael on winning Gatorade Player of the Year honors and selecting Mizzou for his college career.
Last week on April 18th, The North Face teamed up with Staple to stage an intimate dinner at the former’s NYC showroom. The occasion was a celebration of Staple’s 20th anniversary, as well as a showcase for The North Face’s Fall 2017 Urban Collection and some of the brand’s upcoming collaborations. Luminaries in attendance included Jeff Staple, Lil Buck, DJ Clark Kent, Dao-Yi Chow and our own Dan Hwang. They enjoyed a multi-course meal prepared by Jeremiah Stone and Fabian Von Hauske of NYC’s Contra and Wildair. Check out a photo recap of the event in the gallery below.

Reebok’s Allen Iverson inspired collaboration with Undefeated was a surprising jolt of retro-fitted modernism courtesy of the Instapump Fury. Today, the avant-garde silo is again at the center of another collaboration this time with China-based DEAL.
With an apparent nod to Chinese culture’s yin and yang, the DEAL x Reebok Instapump Fury “Tai Chi” comes color blocked in varying asymmetrical black and silver hues atop a partially specked midsole and branded heel. Neoprene and leather cascade across the body of the shoe slated to land at DEAL’s flagships and Shanghai’s WZK on May 6.
Tokyo streetwear mainstay DELUXE continues their ongoing partnership with Vans with another stellar collaboration centered around the timeless Authentic silhouette.
Although the low-cut style remains relatively subtle, DELUXE updates the traditional skate silhouette with a graphic midsole unit followed by monochromatic black and white checkered print at both the tongue and heel. That same print finds placement at the branded insole while a translucent outer encapsulates more graphic illustrations. Black and blue colorways of the DELUXE x Vans Authentic will be available on April 29 for at the Tokyo-based brands webshop.

Question: What do you do when you’ve got Duke, Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana all looking to sign you? Question 2: More importantly, though, what do you wear?
For Romeo Langord, the 6’5 smooth swingman from Indiana, both answers are obvious. Showing out at adidas Uprising, the Class of 2018 standout led the 22 Vision squad in a close game against SC Supreme who happen to have Zion Williamson. He did so in the adidas Harden Vol 1. Why? “It’s the best shoe out right now,” Romeo says confidently.
Talking Hardens and hooping at a high level, check out our quick convo with Romeo below.
Nice Kicks: What went into picking the Hardens for this big stage?
Romeo Langford: I’ve been playing with these for a while now and they match my team colors.
Nice Kicks: What other shoes are in your rotation these days?
Romeo Langford: Just some more Hardens. [Laughs] It’s the best shoe out right now.
Nice Kicks: Off court, what are you rocking?
Romeo Langford: A lot of Ultra Boost and I just copped a new pair of Yeezys.
Nice Kicks: Before a tournament like this, what music are you listening to?
Romeo Langford: I really don’t listen to too much music. [Laughs]
Nice Kicks: Keep it strictly hoops?
Romeo Langford: Yessir.
Nice Kicks: What’s been the best part of playing at adidas Uprising so far?
Romeo Langford: The crowd. You don’t really get to see a lot of crowds like this at AAU games.
Check out Romeo in action in the video below from our homies at Ball is Life.
In the months to come, Nike will begin to release more new iterations of the ever-popular SF-AF1. The high arching military inspired shoe will play a large role in the latter part of the year. But Nike isn’t exactly loosing touch with the Air Force 1 at the moment. In fact, they’re engaging in more off-beat pairs like the Ultraforce Mid.
This women’s edition takes on luxe Vachetta Tan construction juxtaposed against a ventilated black base and tongue. A bulky white midsole adds height to the shoe that is available nor for 0 at Blends.
