J. Crew’s New Balance 998 “Mustard, Ketchup & Relish” is Peak Patriotism

With America’s birthday just slightly in the rearview, where fireworks rang loudly and patriotic hues were a collective theme at cookouts and pool parties alike, this time represents the onset of summer and many of the country’s time-honored traditions. There are few things more traditional in America than bad food. For which hot dogs serve as the absolute worst.

They do, however, make for a great theme where sneakers are concerned. Menswear retailer J. Crew proves this notion true with the release of its “Mustard, Ketchup & Relish” New Balance 998. Colored in an array of hues that represent the bun, dog and supporting condiments, vibrant suede adorns the classic silhouette which rest above a Abzorb cushioned sole. Bursting with patriotism, this peak Americana release stands on the podium of cleverness as it archives its message without the conformity of red, white and blue.

Here’s How the Nike Air Max Deluxe “Photo Blue” Looks On-Foot

Ahead of its 20th anniversary next year, in 2019, the very-first Nike Air Max Deluxe retro is making its way to international retailers later this month. Also privilege to a SK Air collaboration later this year, one of Nike’s most under-serviced Air Max models is on the verge of receiving its long due.

Returning (as expected) in an original colorway as a jumping off point, the “Photo Blue” edition ignites a retro campaign that will certainly run through the remainder of 2018.

Seen here on-foot, the summer-ready silhouette is ideal with ankle or no-show socks. Of course, you certainly can’t go wrong dressing this late ’90s style up with pleated, oversized trousers. Or, for that matter, a slimmed pair cropped to perfection.

Concepts Partners with adidas Consortium for Asian-Inspired Energy Boost “Shiatsu”

While it feels like more than just a few years ago when Kanye West donned the Energy Boost ESM during a halftime performance at Chicago’s United Center, igniting the shoes trajectory drastically, it was just 2015 when the Boost enabled shoe first released. Now, Cambridge-based Concepts has partnered with adidas Consortium to release a budding pair quite similar to the iteration West laced up three years ago.

Although without the ESM moniker — and birthed from opposing inspiration — the Concepts x adidas Energy Boost “Shiatsu” adorns a pristine white knit upper guarded by a translucent marbled TPU cage. Joined by a jade terrycloth liner that references Asian culture and the Jade stones importance in traditional Shiatsu Massage, the underlying vibe pulls from upscale hotels spas throughout Asia.

Full-length Boost technology cushions the shoe from the bottom up, joining traditional Asian heritage with modern-day performance details. Expect the Concepts x adidas Consortium Energy Boost “Shiatsu” next Saturday, July 21, at Concepts’ Newbury Street and New York locations at 10am EST and cncpts.com at 11am EST. Each pair comes customary with exclusive Concepts packaging.
