EN NOIR – Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

en noir spring summer 2014 collection 01 570x380 EN NOIR Spring/Summer 2014 Collection

Though it is a somewhat from its street wear roots, CurT@!n$ and Rob Garcia’s EN NOIR still retains much of the grittiness fans come to love the brand for. By piecing together tapered leather silhouettes, airy perforated layers, and loosely fitted cotton jersey panelings, the label’s Spring/Summer 2014 Collection looks minimalistic at times, and full blown heavy metal ensemble from another angle. More demurred was its womenswear line, a first for the brand. Yet, much of the executions found on the men’s line have translated nicely onto the women’s, with looks comparable to the taut styling found on many of the luxury fashion houses.

What Do You Think?: A Stampede of Elephant Print

too much elephant print What Do You Think?: A Stampede of Elephant Print

In a week and some change the Air Jordan V 3Lab5 will release. The sneaker gets liberal with the use of the crackled grey print that first appeared on the Air Jordan III back in 1988, almost completely covering the upper with its squiggly lines. The release represents a kind of culmination of borrowings of that “Elephant Print” pattern, one that was for many years exclusive to the model that it debuted on. Is this a tasteful application or are you of the opinion that far too many models these days borrow that Elephant Print pattern from Tinker Hatfield’s 1988 masterpiece? Do you think the overuse of this iconic visual is a sacrilege of sorts, or are you a proponent of Nike giving consumers what they want?

KD V “Nintendo Tribute” by Kickasso Customs

KD V Nintendo

Custom guru Kickasso Customs has a ton of clients, but not all of them are into throwback video games like Cleavland Browns defensive tackle, Phil Taylor. Taylor has had previous work done by Kickasso including the “Water Lilly” Air Jordan XIII’s (13). This time Taylor wanted a Nintendo theme on his KD V’s, and that is exactly what he got. Kickasso captured a perfect sense of the system through two different games including Super Mario and Duck Hunt, each painted on the sides of the kicks as well as a old-school, graphic feature on the Nike Swoosh. Let us know how you feel about Kickasso’s KD V “Nintendo Tribute” for Phil Taylor in the comments section below and stick to Sneaker Files for more daily news on custom sneakers and gear!

Nike Air Force Max CB 2 HYP Pack

Charles Barkley is most remembered in the Fab Five’s Nike Air Force Max and the Nike Air Max 2 CB, but there was an overlooked Nike Air Force Max CB that fell in between the two. The AM 2 CB isn’t in the shadows anymore, especially now that Nike is bringing back the silhouette in updated materials. The Nike Air Force Max CB 2 HYP Pack consists of three different colorways, including Phoenix and Philadelphia style codes. Each model integrates Hyperfuse into the upper to modernize the classic.

Are you a fan of the cross-strapped Barkleys, or are they turrible (Charles voice)? Type a line in the feedback spot with your take, and watch for all three makeups to drop September 21st.
