It seems like Nike is simple going down the list of Penny Hardaway’s NBA employers and creating great colorways of his sneakers with them (although the Air Penny V ‘Miami’, which we showed you detailed images of yesterday, isn’t anywhere close to a ‘Heat’ get-up). Here we have a first close-up look at the ‘Phoenix’ colorway (remember when the Suns teamed Penny with Kidd in one of the more exciting backcourts in NBA history); it features the signature orange/purple detailing with a sick gradient ‘sunset’ effect on the midsole, going from purple at the forefoot to orange on the heel. We’ll drop more detailed images when they surface, but be advised that these are a tentative December 2012 release and should retail for 0. Photos: johnnyredstorm on ISS

Riding high on his triple-MVP and first NBA Championship, Michael Jordan debuted the Air Jordan VII at the 1992 NBA All-Star Game, then went for another chip with the Bulls and his second Olympic gold in the Sevens. Accordingly, this is one of the models taking center stage in Jordan Brand’s upcoming celebration of that 20th Oly anniversary. And while models including the ‘Olympic’ and ‘Gold Medal/Golden Moments’ are intimately connected with this theme, the pair pictured above goes in an entirely different direction. Featuring roughly equal amounts of purple and pink hits, this Air Jordan 7 GS might end up with a nickname like ‘Mixed Berry’, its high-energy palette applied in a pattern reminiscent of the blocking employed on last March’s ‘Orion Blue’ AJ7. Let us know what you think of the latest girls Air Jordan 7 when you’re on the other side looking at more images, and stick with Sneaker News for release info. Photos: MarqueeSole

Capping off the collaborative Rings Pack between BAIT and ASICS in honor of the 2012 Summer Olympic Games is this Gel Lyte III representing the blue ring.
Decked out in light blue and red leather, the kicks come lined in white with a white midsole and feature the silhouette’s signature split tongue look with red appearing on the medial side, medial branding and laces.
Set for a Summer 2012 release, look for the collab to drop alongside the rest of the pack with the BAIT launch in June.

Wherever and whenever the mysterious Bait decides to open up its doors its apparently going to do so with a bang, with two collabos already secured. You already saw their Asics ‘Ring Pack’, now meet their take on the Saucony Grid 9000-that techy 90′s runner that has seen quite a few well executed collabs for this year. This teaser obviously doesn’t give too much away but expect the red, black, and green pair to show off its homebase as with the Bait-branded stripe down the tongue. Let us know which of their upcoming projects you’re feeling most and stay tuned for word on when Bait makes its debut and the accompanying sneaks are made available.

Kobe will need to bounce back against the Thunder for Game 2 if he wants to keep this series competitive because thus far, the Thunder have the Lakers outmatched in almost every category. But don’t underestimate the Black Mamba, who has demonstrated a killer instinct and can become one of the most unstoppable forces from time to time. Kobe’s been bouncing back and forth between the Kobe VII Supreme and the higher-grade Elite in the Playoffs, but perhaps he’ll go with this Saturday’s release of the Concord/Cool Grey to mix it up a bit. The Lakers are indeed in dire need for some change, so hopefully a wardrobe change is all Kobe needed to get a different outlook on the game. More of this colorway below, so take a look and expect them this Saturday at Nike Basketball retailers like Social Status or right now on eBay.
