sports lab by atmos shinjuku tokyo japan 01 Sports Lab by atmos New Flagship Store in Shinjuku | By TORAFU Architects

While it has long maintain a large presence on the Internet, atmos Tokyo‘s Harajuku flagship store is actually no larger than a kiosk to a certain extent. That is about to change this August when the sneakers/sportswear retailer opens a new retail location in the neighborhood of Shinjuku. Just north of Shibuya and Harajuku, the new flagship is right across from Shinjuku train station and steps away from Shinjuku Takashimaya Times Square department store. Dubbed “Sports Lab by atmos,” and designed by TORAFU Architects, best known for their minimalistic approach on AESOP Shibuya flagship, the store features approximately 200 square meters of space with decor fashioned in recycled building materials taken from a gym. In addition to the popular brands it already offers, like HEAD PORTER, Nike, The North Face, retaW, and others, the larger space allows atmos to add more names in its brand portfolio. Sports Lab by atmos is set to open on Saturday, August 3rd.

nike zoom hyperflight guangzhou tiger detailed look 587561 801 01 570x570 Nike Zoom Hyperflight – “Guangzhou: Tiger” | Detailed Look

Next on the “Tale of Three Cities” from Nike is Guangzhou in southern China. With roughly 12 million people living in and around its urban center, Guangzhou is China’s third largest city after Shanghai and Beijing. It is also one of China’s most prosperous sub-provincial city. One of the few region opened to foreigners in the centuries before, Guangzhou became a thriving port and still is a world leading manufacturing center for textile, high-tech product and other goods. Perhaps it was Guangzhou’s prowess in international trade that it earned a long association with the ferocious tiger. Hence, Nike Basketball‘s flamboyant appointment of orange/black tiger stripes on Guangzhou’s version of Nike Zoom Hyperflight. Further highlight by the copper-tone overlay and perforated leather, Nike also added the Chinese character of “?”, or “Yue” a general description of South China region, onto the shoe’s insole.

Like the Nike Zoom Hyperflight Premium “Beijing: Lion”, the Nike Zoom Hyperflight Premium “Guangzhou: Tiger” will be available at select Nike China retail locations starting tomorrow, July 20th. If everything goes accordingly, the collection will also be available to consumers in the US two weeks from now.

“Fire Red” Air Jordan 5

fire red air jordan 5 Fire Red Air Jordan 5

It’s going to be a very fire red summer. The Air Jordan IV kicked things off with that “Toro” look utilizing said shade, but it’s a couple of OG colorways that will wrestle back the hue come August. The Air Jordan V is one of them, as the sneakers are planning to suit up in this, a colorway plucked right out of the sneaker’s 1990 debut. Give us a heads up down in the comments if you anticipate them being a quicker sell-out than January’s pair and watch for the Air Jordan V “Fire Red” to release on August 31st.

BRONX NEWS: Cops bust up ‘cut-rate’ coke ring

They dealt drugs at a cut-rate.

Cops dismantled a drug crew and its suppliers, who terrorized the Tremont neighborhood while making brazen cocaine deals from a barbershop and sitting in lawn chairs on the street, the Daily News has learned.

“They’re violent guys, they’re career drug guys,” said NYPD Lt. Chris Von Kessel of the NYPD Bronx Narcotics Division. “We targeted the right guys, and it’ll make a difference over there.”

One alleged coke distributor, nabbed in what cops dubbed “Operation Scissorhands,” peddled the drugs out of the Diamond Cuts barbershop on E. Tremont Ave.

Police arrested barber Ian Ortiz, 24, on Thursday, according to the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

Besides Ortiz, cops from the NYPD Bronx Narcotics Division Thursday nabbed another supplier, Robert Rodriguez, 45, along with Ryan Alcantara, 26, the crew’s leader, and four of his workers after an undercover officer set up a coke deal, the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor said.

Rodriguez and Ortiz allegedly supplied the coke that Alcantara’s Bathgate Ave. crew peddled openly from lawn chairs they’d set up on the sidewalk outside a deli.

Cops said neighbors and merchants lived in fear of the dealers, who pedaled the drugs down the street from a Catholic school and near a drug treatment center.

Cops did business with the coke dealers 14 times since January, netting more than 510 grams worth nearly ,000, according to the Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

The takedown occurred after the latest drug deal between Ortiz, Alcantara and the undercover agent — who bought 200 grams of cocaine with a street value of about ,000.

Both were arrested and Rodriguez, who’d met Ortiz earlier in the day, was placed under surveillance and cuffed later.

Cops then went to the deli where the rest of the alleged crew members were lounging and collared Donald Robertson, 48, Calvin Cole, 49, and Juan Jimenez, 26. Another man, David Aguilar, 31, was arrested at his home nearby. All are facing charges of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

They were expected to be arraigned this weekend in Manhattan Criminal Court, because the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor is handling the case.

Ortiz’s co-workers at the barbershop said they were stunned to learn he was mixed up in drugs.

“He’s not a problematic kid. He’s a cool kid,” said barber Angel Martinez, 25, who has been cutting hair at the shop for four years. “Some of his clients are waiting for him to come back.”

Thursday’s arrests marked the second time in three weeks that a Bronx barbershop was alleged to have doubled as a center for drug dealing. Late last month, cops arrested five men accused of selling 1.3 kilos of cocaine to an undercover officer out of a Mott Haven barbershop and another in Brooklyn.

Von Kessel said he’s noticed an uptick in the use of barbershops to sell drugs.

“We have seen that,” he said. “We know they did do transactions out of there. They have been arrested there in the past, and that’s why we targeted it.”
