LeBron James To Retro Nike Air Zoom Generation?

LeBron James To Retro Nike Air Zoom Generation

A couple days ago, LeBron James sent this tweet out, causing sneakerheads everywhere to freak out:

The tweet, which linked to a pic of James wearing his first signature sneaker (the Nike Air Zoom Generation “First Game”), posed the question to his followers as to whether or not it was “retro time”. With the Nike Air Zoom Generation having first released 10 years ago – nearly the amount of time between the Air Jordan I and its first retro release – it seems like the perfect time to bring back the original LeBron James sneaker. Even though the shoe’s original release was not as popular as Nike had hoped, the shoe’s popularity has grown over the past few years, with the shoe now being looked at in a different, more positive light. If Nike were to re-release this shoe, would it be a hit, now that James has cemented his place in NBA history as one of the greatest players of all-time (with the possibility of several more years of dominance to come) and with his sneaker line being one of the most popular today? Hit the jump and let us know your thoughts, and keep it locked with Sneakerfiles.com for information on this possible re-release as news becomes available.

Aside from their speed and finesse, Nike is helping the U.S. Track & Field Champions stand out when competing at the world championships scheduled for this week in Moscow. A far cry from the volt yellow and grey that marked the apparel from last year’s Olympic Games at London, this line-up sees the athletes don “Gamma Blue” and “Pink Foil” for the ladies. As usual, the footwear is infused with the latest in Swoosh technology, including the ultimate lightweight materials across the Nike Zoom Superfly R4, Ja Fly, Maxcat 4, and Celar 4 sprinters, Lunarracer and Flyknit Racer for distance, and Javelin Elite and Rotational 5 for the field, among others. “When we talk to athletes,” according to Nike’s VP of Creative Director of Running, ” we hear from them that bold, vibrant colors make them feel invincible in competition.” See the full line-up in its entirety after the click before seeing them in action this week.

Nike Barkley Posite Max “Gamma Green”

Gamma Green is the newest colorway to grace the Nike Barkley Posite Max. This hybrid joins the iconic Nike Air Max Barkley with famous Foamposite materials to modernize the model. This economical style code is another eye-catcher in the Nike Barkley Posite Max line. Dark gamma green builds a majority of the upper in Foam, which combines with a black eyestay and midsole while riding on a light translucent outsole to create an appropriately menacing appearance.

If Green Goblin needed more comfortable shoes, he would get probably get a pair of these. Are you looking up on these Barkleys like a role model? Give us your thoughts on this release in the feedback spot below, and rebound a pair of your own this Wednesday at Foot Locker.

Air Jordan 1 ’89 “White/Cement”

air jordan 1 89 white cement Air Jordan 1 89 White/Cement

While the Air Jordan 1 hasn’t been sticking to its OG self in 2013, it’s been busy doing quite the opposite with the mashup styles of the model that carry that yearly designation in their title. The Air Jordan 1 ’89 is the one of those that’s in current rotation-a sneaker that relies on the Air Jordan IV for a gang of upgrades as well as the colors selected. This time around the shoe borrows from the OG combination of white/cement, right down the speckling across the midsole. Watch for them to release on August 24th, 2013, and watch for another set of images on them below.

Sneaker News showed you a teaser from an upcoming CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 SP just over a week ago, and now it looks like the brand’s founder Edison Chen has a connection to another drop we’ve had our eyes on. With three embroidered letters at the heel of a dragon-detailed silken Nike Lunar Force 1 ’Shanghai’, Chen’s former sneaker store billed as “China’s first high end sneaker boutique”, ACU takes ownership of the ‘Luwan Never Gone 310103′ University Red and black makeup. Stick with Sneaker News to see if that means the CLOT AM1s will also see only limited distribution in the Far East and let us now if this one’s worth importing.
