With less than 100 days to go until the 2018 Winter Games kick off in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Burton held a special event last night to unveil the Olympic uniforms to be worn by the U.S. Snowboard Team. This marks the fourth consecutive Olympic Games where Burton has partnered with U.S. Ski & Snowboard, and the upcoming uniform program is inspired by the American space program, with a retro-futuristic design combined with innovative functionality. Standout pieces include the competition jacket and pant, both featuring a liquid metal look achieved through an exclusive iridescent silver fabric coated in very fine, real aluminum, along with a spacesuit-inspired down one-piece suit made with non-woven Dyneema fabric, the world’s strongest fiber. Check out individual pieces below, and look for Burton’s one-of-a-kind uniforms to be worn by U.S. athletes competing in this winter’s halfpipe, slopestyle and first ever big air snowboarding event.
