Anything bearing the name of super-skater Eric Koston should be firmly rooted in the Nike SB realm right? The upcoming Air Jordan ‘Golden Moments’ Pack refers to the two Olympic Gold Medal triumphs of the Air Jordan, which arrived in 1992, when Michael led the Dream Team to a dominated victory in the Air Jordan VII ‘Olympic’, and in 2000, when Ray Allen played his role in the 2000 Gold Medal squad in the Air Jordan VI. Both of those colorways will in fact release independently of the Pack, with the Air Jordan VII version slated to hit retailers on July 21st. The ‘Olympic’ should still be somewhat fresh in our minds as a special ‘For The Love Of The Game’ edition released in 2010 with a gold-embroidered basketball/heart logo on the heel. While Nike SB is backing down a bit on the 4/20 releases, they clearly have no qualms about doing tie-in colorways paying tribute to specific varieties of a different, and wholly legal mind altering substance. The latest pair to add to that hallowed tradition aims for a bit of a classier beverage than those included in last month’s ‘Beer Bottle’ pack, evoking the crushed velvet bag of-age folks prone to Crown Royal should be familiar with. Along with the purple suede upper the sneaker is punched up a bit with gold touches on the Swoosh and other accents to make the ‘royal’ aspect that much more evident.
