An enduring summer classic is now available in the fall as well? At least that is how CONCEPTS of Boston envisioned the New England iconoclast Sperry Top-Sider. Mimicking features found on those hardy fisherman outfits, CONCEPTS revamped the popular Bahama Chukka into something with the enduring characteristics – tan nubuck leather with a streak of navy duck canvas as reinforcement. A hint of wool ribbing around the ankle to keep out the chilled air. The CONCEPTS x Sperry Top-Sider Bahama Chukka will be exclusively available at CONCEPTS starting this Friday, October 15th.

Let’s see here . . . early ’80s basketball hightops that have been released in countless colorways, modified to look something like a blue collar work boot. Sounds familiar, eh? Ever since the Nike Air Force 1 Workboot debuted early in 2010, we’ve seen a torrent of similarly rugged adaptations from other models and brands. One such imitation is the adidas Originals Forum Mid RS, a sneaker whose premium leather construction more than makes up for the fact that it’s not exactly a snowflake.
