Part of its menswear Spring/Summer 2012 footwear segment, Lanvin introduces its Hand Embroidery Woven Calfskin Pped Boot. Living up to its name, the bespoke high-top boot boasts a hand-embroidered tan upper and is set atop a lugged black outsole. The tonal aesthetic of the shoe is complemented with understated black lace eyelets and a red/white-laced ankle detailing. The release comes shortly after the French fashion houses debuted its Fall/Winter 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Alden’s Indy 405C is a classic work boot designed for comfort, support and endurance. In teaming with New York’s Leffot, they’ve updated the installment to make it more utilitarian for the blustery winter conditions. The addition of commando soles to the classic 405 design makes for an entirely new boot, with added traction for slippery surfaces and a lighter weight for nimbly dodging around patches of ice and snow. From Kris Van Assche’s eponymous label comes a new footwear option for the imminent season. In usual Van Assche fashion, this new leather boot features a minimalist aesthetic that’s constructed of premium leather material in a signature black and white colorway. Modern detailing comes courtesy of the exposed silver zip metal and textile trimmings found on the heel. For those interested, the leather boot can now be purchased through SSENSE for $ 880 USD.

Vans Vault steps in a new direction with its latest offering coming in the form of a stylish and bold high-top boot. The TH Engineer Boot LX is inspired by an outdoor sensibility while also combining a component of urban utility. Featuring a crepe outsole and super deluxe leather upper, the design harkens back to the Vans Del Barco in terms of innovation. This unisex model will be available next month in both black and brown color options.

Fascinated with the mystical Mayan legend surrounding the thirteen lost crystal skulls, Los Angeles-based artist Steven Harrington set out to bury his own crystal skull sculpture in the Californian desert in hopes that his offering would bring the remaining skulls into existence and divulge the secrets of the universe. As Harrington and his crew set out on their mission, they brought along Generic Surplus to help showcase the collaborative effort between the artist and California shoemaker, a reinterpreted desert boot. Known for his psychedelic desert motifs, Generic Surplus knew Harrington would be an excellent match to craft a Mayan inspired desert boot. Complete with tobacco brown beeswax leather, an EVA sole and artist graphics on the heel and insole, this joint venture certainly inspires the inner treasure hunter to take utilitarian garments and put them to use searching for forgotten legends. The Generic Surplus x Steven Harrington Desert Boot will be available for the spring and summer months, with a launch party going down January 24 at El Chavo in Los Angeles.
