Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring

247144Mail Order Co LL Bean s Famous Maine Hunting Shoes Lined Up by Size from 6 1 2 to 18 In Posters Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring

Spring is well on its way, which means that it’s time to put those insulated, salt stained shit-kickers away in the closet – clean & treat them first, of course – & start thinking about how to ring in the warmer days one step at a time. Although it’s tempting to throw on a pair of Chuck Taylor’s sans socks at the first sign of a mild day, it’s important to remember that spring weather can be fickle, & namely quite wet. This means that boots are a great choice. So many brands are making incredibly stylish pieces at great prices, & we’ve assembled our Top 5 pieces for Spring. Check ‘em out!

1) Junya Watanbe MAN Waxed Canvas Duck Boot
image 61911 Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring
Perfect for those farmyard chores or simply the grimy city streets, these duck boots were key in helping Junya Watanabe MAN establish his countryside theme collection, at his runway show last June. With a triple needle stitch drill cotton canvas upper for extra durability, the traditional rubber element leads into a noticeably pronounced tread sole, for extra grip and eye-catching score points. Also available in Tan & Olive, but we prefer the less traditional Navy, pictured above. Available here.

2) Opening Ceremony M1 Suede Desert Boot
186473 mrp fr xl Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring
Desert boots from NYC-based Opening Ceremony are famed for their sleek construction and slick urban appeal. This dark blue suede pair will contribute to an accomplished contemporary look when worn with varying shades of navy. Granted, they don’t have the resilience requires for those really rainy days, but they’re the perfect balance of warm weather style & practical protection & functionality. Available here.

3) Timberland Abington 6-Eye Canoe Boot
Timberland Abington 6 Eye Canoe Boot 0 Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring
The Abington Collection reflects Timberland‘s respect for the New England city where the brand was founded and a time when people, the land, and the gear they used all had to be rugged. The 6-Eye Canoe boot is built to be worn at the lake and back in the lodge giving its wearer no second thought to their comfort and style. Made with a waxed cotton brown/chocolate upper with Horween leather trim, this lightweight rework of the original canoe boot design features a rugged Vibram outsole, a padded tongue, and full leather lining. Available here.

4) Hunter ‘Thurloe’ Lace-Up Wellington Boot
301118 mrp in xl Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring
Last season every guy & his girlfriend were wearing classic Hunter Wellington boots, & for good reason, their odds-on the best way to keep your feet dry on the rainiest days. Still, one gets tired of looking down the line at the coffee shop & realizing 3 other guys are rocking the same look. That’s what great about these lace-up ‘Thurloe’ boots; you get that great Hunter quality, style, & functionality, but in a more unique look that’s also – in our humble opinion – more stylish than the original. Available here.

5) Common Projects Black Work Boot
21133M047001 1 1 Feature: 5 Great Boots for Spring
A great pair of black boots is something every guy should have, whether their rugged Dr. Martens, or a more refined take like these from Common Projects. Done in a more refined pebbled leather, these boots feature a tonal lace-up closure, leather sole & a great wooden heel. Available here.

UNDERCOVERISM I6F04-1 Boots

UNDERCOVERISM I6F04 1 Boots

As much as we enjoy brands like Red Wing, Chippewa or Alden, we understand that sometimes a guy wants to tread a different path that, one that veers away from the well-trod workwear direction. A good start is this I6F04-1 Boot from Undercoverism, the menswear sub-brand of Jun Takahashi’s Undercover. The pull-on leather boot seamlessly blends western, work and biker elements, featuring functional straps, stitched welt and embroidery at the back that expresses a rebellious spirit. A lightweight Vibram crepe sole finishes the look. The Undercoverism I6F04-1 Boot is available in black or brown colorways and is in stock now ZOZOVILLA.

Danner 2012 Spring/Summer Light Heathman Boots

Danner 2012 Spring/Summer Light Heathman Boots

Originating in the Pacific Northwest, Danner traces its beginnings to the city of Portland, Oregon. Deeply rooted its in local history, it makes sense that the Light Heathman Boots garnered their name from the Heathman hotel – one of Portland’s longest standing and most historical hotels. The Light Heathman Boot draws its form and function from the needs of late 1920′s timber barons and has remained one of Danner’s most comfortable and durable silhouettes within the line. The pair’s upper is made from a well-executed pairing of rich brown leathers and contrasting olive suede panels. A Vibram 2060 outsole serves as the foundation for the lightweight boot and is secured via customary stitchdown welting. Designed with the elements in mind, the pair includes a breathable Drilex mesh lining to wick away moisture build-up. Given Danner’s storied reputation, the Light Heathman is likely to hold a long lifespan and retails for $ 300 USD through the Danner online store.
