We’ll continue to see new variations on the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star hopefully till the end of time and the latest twist is a decidedly rugged one. The Chuck Taylor AS Classic Boot Hi just showed up for the first time at Bread & Butter Berlin looking just like your classic moc-toed Red Wing boot. They’re done in premium leather or suede with metal eyelets and corded boot laces, with both pairs applying white contrast stitches to different effect. The signature three-toned colorway for the Nike Air Classic BW is, of course, that immortal ‘Persian Violet’ look, but here’s a new one for spring 2011 that’s on par with the OG. These new BWs are done in the same blocking pattern as the Persians, but instead of black and purple these go for Medium Grey and kelly green, respectively. The result is something that’s both familiar and fresh, an ideal look for springtime that’s quite a bit more versatile than your average green sneakers. Here’s another look from Nike Sportswear that takes the iconic Nike Air Classic BW ‘Persian Violet’ colorway and adds a twist. We’ve seen its colorblocking pattern reversed and the contrast shade swapped for another; both are true here, plus the base is done in a deep Obsidian blue rather than the Persians’ black. So we get another look that’s familiar and yet totally new — kinda like the effect of a knowledgable sneakerhead double-taking when you show up in a pair of BW Gen IIs. But you can’t go wrong with the (slightly altered) original, so have a closer look and grab yours a bit earlier than the rest of NSW spots from Kicks-Crew.

Reebok reached back into its vault to update the Insta Pump Fury for 2010 and this year they’ll be updating another classic. The Reebok Classic, to be exact, and in its new form this model will be known as the Classic Ultralite. This is due to the use of a new super lightweight 3D Ultralite material on the sole, which is sorta like Nike Sportswear upgrading one of their old school runners with a LunarLon base. But RBK didn’t stop with the sole, taking the Classic down to a sleeker silhouette that’s pictured in both nylon/leather and mesh getups. For Spring 2011, Nigel Cabourn has worked to update Red Wing Shoes‘ classic work 6″ round-toe boot. The boot’s cool grey suede sets it apart from previous versions. Featuring lightly-coloured soles and white leather laces, the boots will be released ahead of other stores at Cabourn’s official Tokyo flagship.

The Air BW Gen II got re-updated with a new style of Torch mesh, but what about the original Nike Air Classic BW? In another world, these were known as the Air Max ’91 or AMIV and this new colorway looks like the most famous one, except from another dimension. Sort of like a bizarro Persian Violet, these swap out purple for royal blue accent atop a base that sees its black and white sections swapped relative to the OG Persian BWs. So you get the same classic style the for which the BW is beloved and a little double-take action when knowledgable sneakerheads know they’ve seen these somewhere, but can’t quite place it. The Jordan Hardcourt Classic 1 is now available at Jordan Brand retailers.
At this time there are two colorways available; a Black/ Black colorway and another in White/ Flint Grey- Varsity Red that is very reminiscent of the Air Jordan Team 1 Retro + colorway that had dropped years ago.

The story of how the Chinese Zodiacs came to be is part folklore and part fortune telling. It was said that the Emperor invited 13 animals to his banquet, a race ensued that ended with the rat as the winner. For the 2011, or the Year of the Rabbit, Nike Sportswear created its 10th Chinese Zodiac theme footwear, as commemorative edition for the upcoming Chinese New Year.
The first time that Nike Tennis Classic as the base for a Chinese Zodiac Series, the Year of the Rabbit Edition comes in 2 different variants, for men and women. An all white leather with red “2011″ letterings on its tongue tab, a representation of a white rabbit and its red eyes. The women’s version comes with a large red metallic Swoosh and heel tab while dashing acrooss the men’s version will be a metallic gold one instead, both colors of fortune and luck in the Chinese believe. A rabbit leaping icon is adorned on the inner sockliner. As with most Chinese Zodiacs Collection, the Nike Sportswear Tennis Classic – Year of the Rabbit will only be available at Nike Sportswear retailers in Greater China and Hong Kong.
