Hong Kong lifestyle label CLOT’s latest collaboration with Nike Sportswear is decidedly less intricate than their breathtaking 1World Air Force 1, but what the above pictured teamup lacks in complexity, this new lookbook adds back in playfulness. The CLOT x Nike Tennis Classic Suede is a perfect compliment to a huge range of outfits, as demonstrated in these preview images depicting founders Edison Chen and Kevin Poon suited up for a variety of urban adventures. The classic 1960′s Cortez has returned in OG form for 2012.
Made famous in Tom Hanks’ 1994 film “Forrest Gump”, the red, white, and blue colorway is back with a leather upper, nylon tongue with exposed padding, and old school tongue branding.
Set to drop as a Spring 2012 quickstrike, the Nike Cortez Classic OG Leather “Forrest Gump” is now available via Limited Edt.

Converse seems set on replicating the success Nike has seen in recent years with their annual Lunar New Year sneaker releases, and the nubmer of One Star shoes themed after the Chinese Zodiac continues to climb with almost each passing day. The latest revelation is a new pair of Converse One Star 74 II Ox lowtops crafted in an embossed red nubuck that bears the reptillian texture you might expect to find on a patch of dragon skin, if such a thing were to exist. These have all the look of a fiery beast without any of the need to carry a sword, and they’ll be available just in time for the celebration next month at Asian Converse retailers. via FRESHNESS

It’s hard to imagine the Reebok Classic Leather coming out any better than last fall’s dope vintage pack releases, but these might not be the pairs you’d want to argue against approaching that level of perfection. These new RBK CLs are made of rich black and brown oiled suedes, both pairs opting for white soles, though their brown sockliners make for slightly different overall packages. It’s interesting to note that one of these images comes in at just the right angle so as to show how Reebok’s Vector insignia was at work even while the brand was most commonly associated with the Union Jack, and almost poetic when you consider how beautifully this old school icon has translated over to one of today’s hottest trends for retro runners. Last July we took a look into a collection being offered by Vans of the Classic Era Wingtip with a wool motif. For this Spring 2012, Vans once again turns its attention to the Wingtip version of the Era and produces another three similar colorways- but leaves the wool out of it. Mixed canvas and leather uppers are seen on cool grey, black and wheat/brown colorways. Do you prefer the wool or no wool collection?

Like the Jack Purcell, this One Star Classic 74 Ox sports a scaly upper, this time in premium red suede. The shoe is topped off with black leather lining and a classic white vulcanized sole.

Undercover x Nike Zoom Tennis Classic – ‘Teddy Bear’ Pack
Sometimes called Undercoverism, Undercover is a Japanese streetwear clothing brand founded by Jun Takahashi. For this release, his label collaborates with non other than Nike on the Nike Zoom Tennis Classic. The outcome is the “Teddy Bear” pack which consists of same shoe in three different colorways. Composed of premium leather, the trademark teddy bear graphic by Jun Takahashi is embroidered on the heel in addition to the designer’s name engraved on the in-sole.

Finally, in our round-up of CONVERSE‘s Year of the Dragon pack, a limited collection in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year, we take a look at the One Star Classic 74 II Oxford (or Low). Dubbed “Dragon Scale” edition for obvious reason, the One Star Classic 74 II features a reptilian pattern leather upper in reddish hue, a color known for prosperity in Chinese lore. A black insole and white outsole accentuate the design further. Available starting next month at CONVERSE retailers in Asia.
The Reebok Classic is one of the most iconic silhouettes in the sneaker community. This time around Reebok adds a vintage tonal suede upper with a crepe sole. The “Crepe” pack comes in three colors, red, navy and camel.

I have a feeling 2012 could be the year of the Reebok Classic. The shoe made so popular throughout the 90’s is set to return, and this crepe pack its latest reincarnation. Stay tuned for its release in the new year in a number of different colours.
