Undefeated have teamed up with Converse again, this time to re-interpret the classic Jack Purcell. This is probably my favourite collaboration between the pair yet. A simple make-over to the iconic sneaker. The shoe will be available in the 3 colours shown at Undefeated stores and selected Converse First String retailers globally from May 25th for .

Converse is certainly doing its’ fair share of collaborations right now. Last week, we told you about how John Varvatos had redesigned the classic Converse Chuck Taylor in order to create the “Double Zip” Chuck Taylors, which featured a couple of zippers on the iconic sneakers. And, it looks like that’s not the only Converse collabo going down right now. In addition to those sneakers, Convese also teamed up with New Era recently to create the Chuck Taylor All Star Hi “New Era” sneaker. And, while it’s not wildly different than the original Chuck Taylors like the “Double Zips” are, the “New Era” does look like it’ll be a must-have sneaker for fans of both of the brands.
As you can see from the photo of the “New Era,” the sneaker is available in a high-top design (as if you couldn’t tell from the name of it) that features a navy wool upper, a white sole, white laces, and the New Era logo splashed across the back of the heel. The sole also features a navy blue stripe that seems to reflect the classic design that New Era injects into many of their hats. It’s a classy-looking sneaker that keeps things simple and represents both of the brands that put time and effort into making it come to life.
If you’re an avid sneakerhead, someone who collects hats, or just a big fan of New Era, then you’re probably going to want to make sure that this sneaker ends up somewhere in your collection. Currently, it’s only available through retailers like New Era Japan, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see it pop up elsewhere sometime in the near future. But, if you’re planning on rocking a navy blue New York Yankees New Era cap at all this summer, this sneaker would be the perfect compliment. So, make sure you cop it.

The Converse Fast Break Hi might seem like it’s been around a bit more often, but it’s really something of a rarity from the One Star’s heritage catalog. That sense of familiarity is possibly a reflection of their similarity to the Puma First Round hightop, but the sidewall branding on this pair’s sole ensures there’s absolutely no confusion. This brown, red and gold colorup is the kind of thing you’ll need to have in your closet come the colder months, but they can also sub in during the summer if you want to tone things down just a tad. Check these out up close below, let us know how this one compares to Converse’s icons like the Chuck Taylor and Jack Purcell, and find this pair available now at Size?

Even though its parent company got started with the brand that’s the global leader in athletic footwear and gear, Converse is still considered the American heritage sneaker brand. Their absorption into Nike, Inc. has improved not only the once-struggling One Star’s bottom line, but also sent them in the direction of collaborations and other modern marketing strategies. The latest just so happens to team up with the Buffalo, NY company who’s been supplying Major League Baseball with 59FIFTY caps so long they’re the definitive name in fitteds. So the New Era Cap Company x Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Hi has a ton of history behind it (196 years, to be exact), and when you see how NE’s famed woolen (actually, polyester since 2007) weave matches with the Chuck’s immortal silhouette, you might get a sense for this as an almost ‘inevitable’ pairing. Click through to see more details including the N-flag heel embroidery and a green outsole reminiscent of NE’s old underbrim, and be sure to check back with Sneaker News to see if these release outside of Japan. via Hayabusa

There have been plenty of patterned-uppered Chuck Taylors over the years, but those often come with familiar themes or imagery. For the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ‘Abstract’ the name reflects the fact that although you’ve never seen anything quite like this, the lines represent the way your eyes work and how your focus moves across a visual field. It’s one quick and easy way to make sure your kicks are turning heads wherever you go, and this pair’s CMYK colorup is nicely primed for another carefully selected color on a lace swap. Either way, you’re looking at a couple of the more unique All Stars in recent memory, and they’re available now at Size?
