Nike Air Force 1 Low Premium ‘Black History Month’ – Release Reminder

1981 and 1976 – two important years for Nike and Black History in America. 1981 was the birth year of the Nike Air Force 1, and 1976 was the first year of Black History Month observance, and in 2011, the iconic footwear brand and commemorative month of February team up once again to release a special pair of the Nike Air Force 1. For the 35th year of Black History Month, Nike has decided to pay tribute to three great Black athletes of generations present and past. With ‘A Call to Greatness’ as the theme of the year, Julius Erving, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant are honored for their great individual achievements that have transcended the sport of basketball and have had profound effects on Black History. Through sport, greatness can be achieved, and this year, that message will be conveyed using the Air Force 1 Low as a vessel. Nike Air Force 1 Low Obsidian/White

The Nike Air Force 1 Low gets a case of the blues on this new Obsidian/White makeup. Smooth leather and texured epi leather compose the obsidian upper atop a white midsole for a tonal look. Obsidian reappears on the outsole baring a translucent finish. These will likely drop in the States, but if you can’t wait get them now at Cali Roots.

Nike Air Force 1 High – Black – Cement Grey | Chris Hall Promo Sample

In 2006, arguably the most iconic Nike sneaker in history turned twenty-five, and Nike presented a worthy celebration for the silver anniversary of the shoe that proudly represented the brand for years. During a special VIP-studded party for the Air Force 1 (which included notable guests like AF1-creator Bruce Kilgore, Mark Parker, and other big names in urban culture like Dave White, Jeff Staple, FUTURA, and Spike Lee), one eye-catching pair of the Air Force 1 High was spotted on the feet of big-time sneaker collector Chris Hall. It featured a sublime combination of black and elephant print in cement grey with an elephant print ankle strap to boot with Hall’s name proudly labeled on the tail-end of the straps. This leather-lined Air Force 1 High is undoubtedly one of the rarest pairs to have been created, and one size 11 just recently became available online. If you aren’t familiar with Chris Hall’s Air Force 1 High, take a look at the detailed images below and to see how much this pair sold for, check out the auction from thecoolshoeshine on eBay.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI & Air Force 1 Low – Orange County Pack | Release Reminder

The third and final releasing colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe VI is the ‘Orange County‘ colorway, which features a beach-themed insole and upper with a gorgeous sunset that is the figure of envy from anyone who calls the Northeast home. The wide success of the Zoom Kobe V has opened the door for additional themed colorways, like the All-Star LA Pack, the Batman-inspired colorways, and a few other special releases that have rendered Kobes (and LeBrons) a gimmicky collectible like the SB Dunk. The Kobe VI ’3-D’ released on midnight Wednesday to an instant sell-out, and the Orange County will likely see the same fate, so be sure to get your payment info ready and fingers crossed because the Orange County Kobe VI will hit Nikestore tonight at midnight. Releasing tomorrow with the Kobe VI Orange County is the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Orange County’ as well. You can cop both at 21 Mercer tomorrow, but if you’ve already given up on copping for retail, snag a pair of the Kobes now on eBay.
