You might have expected these a bit earlier in the year, but just as Jordan Brand has proved with their staggered releases, it’s not written in stone that all Chinese New Year sneakers be released in February. But actually, despite the ‘Smoking Bunny’ character that appears on their heels, insoles, lacelocks and hangtags, this new Frank Kozik x Puma Suede trio isn’t a Year of the Rabbit-themed release. Instead, they seek to draw attention to the artist whose name is scrawled upon the lateral heels with leather-toed red, black and blue colorways set to hit retailers shortly. Check them out in more detail after the jump and let us know how these rank against comparable collabos like the Rick Griffin x Vans series. via visioninvisible

Digital age tastemakers Frank 151 have to this point been known more for shedding light on trends than playing a direct role in their creation, but this new collaboration with Vans opens up a new territory. The Frank 151 x Vans Vault 106 utilizes a classic Chicago Bulls ‘away’ colorup with a mix of leather and suede adding some depth of texture to the relatively simple design. It’s a fitting colorway given that these have just popped up at Chi-town’s St. Alfred, and you can click on the jump below to see more images.

Frank ‘The Butcher’ and Deon Point of the great Concepts of Cambridge, MA got their Bespoke on recently, using a certain high-end luxury brand as the colorway-inspiration for their Bespoke creations. Starting with The Butcher, his Bespoke featured a mix of tan, olive green, and red with a black inner lining, white midsole, a gum bottom sole for a simple and classy appeal. Deon Point used a similar set of colors, opting for a tonal red upper with tan contrast stitching, a tan-over-olive double-layered swoosh, a premium brown leather heel-tab, a gum midsole, and an olive green outsole. Some of the Bespoke creations we’ve seen in the past were a bit over the top in terms of colors and options, but it’s clear the Frank and Deon ‘concepts’ (pun intended) were in point. Check out these latest Air Force 1 Bespoke creations to come out of 21 Mercer and let us know what you think.
