It had been reported yesterday by reputable sources that a price increase in the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ and Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ would be on the way for the Holiday 2012 season. We have just learned first-hand from Jordan Brand that the yesterday’s news isn’t quite the case; the Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ (November) will stay at a retail price of 0, while the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ will increase by only five dollars to an MSRP of 5. This news is certainly a sigh of relief for many sneakerheads out there, and we’re happy to be able to confirm that those prices won’t see that drastic increase after all. This news should have a lot of people resting easier, so let us know what your thoughts are now that Jordan Brand has cleared the air.

One of the most stirring topics of 2011 was our report on Nike’s plans to increase prices ‘across the board’, measures that were immediately put into place once we welcomed the New Year. Some of Nike’s heritage models like the Air Force 1 and Air Max 95 were bumped up a few bucks, while higher-end shoes like the LeBron 9 raised itself to 0 and eventually 0 with the Elite. This latest tidbit of information from TSG shows that Jordan Brand will take part in yet another increase, as the upcoming Holiday releases of the Air Jordan IV ‘Bred’ (November/Black Friday) and Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ (December) will see significant leaps in price. The baseline MSRP of Retro Jordans have reached an astounding 0 already, but the Bred IV will eclipse that mark by to the 0 mark, while the Air Jordan XI ‘Bred’ will occupy the same jump from the 0 MSRP of 2011′s Concords to 0 flat. Is the slow but steady increase of Nike’s prices on its products just a way to stay consistent with inflation and rising costs of pretty much everything from oil to bubble gum, or is this a way to capitalize on the global popularity of sneakers?

What better way to lace up during the holiday season than in some red and green kicks right? New Balance seems to think so, devoting at least a portion of their Holiday 2012 collection to covering that classic color combo. First up is the New Balance 998 in forest green, a sneaker that’s had a solid run over the past half year thanks to the Made in USA models hitting us. The red is brought up by the New Balance 1600, doing so with a rich suede that should have all eyes on this underrated model. Click through for the full look at both upcoming New Balance colorways to hold you over until they hit later this year. Photos: Ronnie Fieg

While pro-models will shed the SB tag, you can count on crossover Sportswear models like the Dunk and Blazer to carry on the SB name. Dropping this Holiday 2012 season is an Earl Grey/Medium Mint colorway, which features a two-toned grey upper with a solid Medium Mint outsole and Swoosh. As Nike continues to opt for the simpler approach to its Dunk releases, leaving the wacky ideas to the skate-shops and artists for Quickstrikes, Nike Skateboarding will continue to live on regardless of what happens to branding. More angles below, so take a look and stay tuned for more updates on Nike’s Skateboarding division. via n-sb

Maybe Nike Sportswear is keeping their plans for a summer blowout tight-lipped until later, but the Air Max 1′s 25th birthday year is almost a quarter over without so much as a mention of the kind of anniversary attention we’ve seen lavished on the Air Force 1. There is, however, a certain momentum building in previews for new ’87s, and these new Nike Air Max 1 Premiums coming up for the fourth quarter provide assurance that we’ll be ending the year with some dope new pairs. Two of these four were first seen last week and are joined today by grey/black and mint/grey pairs that both go for almst entirely suede uppers instead of the leather wraps shared by the ‘older’ two. Have a look at all of them after the jump, let us know which one catches your eye and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike Sportswear Holiday 2012 previews. Photos: Iceberg of Sneakerheads Germany

Sneaker News just showed you a brand new Nike Air Flight One colorway that’s halfway between the Orlando OG that just retroed and the more obscure white-based TB-like colorways that originally released in late 1995 as Penny himself was transitioning to the Air Penny. It’s a colorway we hadn’t seen in the Q4 Nike Sporstswear b-ball retro preview we’d done a week earlier depicting new Half Cents and a black/white Air Flight One, and now that pair and the un-Orlando edition have been spotted together. These two placed side-by-side is an opportunity for you to examine how ripe with blocking options this pod-enhanced design really is, so click through to see more and let us know to which pair you’re more looking forward. via eshao83 on NT

First previewed back in February, what was initially thought to be the newest 3.0 runner from Nike is actually the Nike Free Haven 3.0.
A low-top trainer, the kicks couple a training-specific Nike Free 3.0 Phylite sole with a laser cut upper for lightweight support.
Look for the kicks to hit Nike retailers in a number of colorways later this year.
