Though Kobe Bryant will likely lace up a brand new signature silhouette for the upcoming 2013-2014 NBA campaign, Nike isn’t yet done with the Black Mamba’s Kobe 8 System as a “Pit Viper” edition is on tap for a release this October. An evolution from previous snake-inspired takes on the shoe, the “Pit Viper” sees a photo-realistic scale pattern throughout its purple Engineered Mesh upper while Green Glow adorns the lining and branding. The Purple Dynasty/Green Glow-Raspberry Red low-top is due out October 5 at Nike Basketball retailers for $ 140 USD.

The Nike Kobe 8 hits continue as we get a nice update from Nike regarding the sultry “Pit Viper” release. We first saw these some weeks ago at the Drew League, and recently NIKEiD gave the silhouette a boost by offering up Pit Viper, the photo-realistic print taken from the venomous viper, on the Kobe 8 iD. However, this Purple/Green Glow colorway is indeed set for a retail release, as we learn alongside these official photos that an early October release will go down. Best Kobe 8 yet? You be the judge.
