Diana Taurasi Rocks Nike LeBron 15 “Equality”

Diana Taurasi, 3x WNBA Champion and renown sneakerhead, gave us a look at some of her shoes in her enormous collection on June 16, 2018 as the Phoenix Mercury hosted the Connecticut Sun.

Taurasi has rocked the LeBron James signature line while winning rings and draining threes. In her 14th year in the league, Taurasi brought out the Nike LeBron 15 “Equality” PEs that were limited to the King himself and lucky raffle winners.

While only 200 pairs of the all-black and gold lettering exist, Taurasi wasn’t going to let low stock set her back from acquiring the pair. In celebration of Pride night, Taurasi made sure her message was heard around the league: equality for all.

Photoshop Friday // LeBron James Free Agency Eastern Conference Edition

It’s officially the NBA off-season, a.k.a. the start of the biennial LeBron James free agency sweepstakes. It’s been heavily reported that the King shall be vacating his throne atop Northeast Ohio, with a number of teams around the league jockeying for position as his next stop.

Naturally, with LeBron being more familiar with arguably greener pastures of the Eastern Conference, there have audible murmurs of him staying on the Atlantic side, with a few teams having a higher probability of acquiring him and his talents.

We’ve narrowed them down to three top contenders and outfitted three past silhouettes from his signature Nike LeBron line in their team colors to see what it might be like should he call a new place home after this summer.

Check them out below in this week’s edition of Nice Kicks’ Photoshop Friday.

Every Sneaker Worn by LeBron James This Season

Athlete, activist and Akron’s own, LeBron James had one hell of a season on the basketball court as well as off of it.

On the hardwood, the leading man for the league, Cleveland Cavaliers and Nike Basketball proved best in show to most fans and NBA experts, playing in all 82 games of the season and making the NBA Finals for what now seems like clockwork.

A comeback of sorts, the Nike LeBron 15 proved the King’s most interesting signature shoe in years, upping the ante on tech with BattleKnit construction while creating a chase with the #LeBronWatch PE program.

From ACG referencing renditions of his own PE to the Soldier style he’d dub with the “Injection Game” nickname, see all of King James’ Kicks on Court from the 2017-18 season.

LeBron James Debuts New Nike Air Zoom Generation PE

LeBron James is the talk of the league right now and currently the talk of this site. After praising his 15th season fashion this afternoon, the King offers a hat tip if you will with the debut of a new pre-game PE.

Donning a purple suede take on his introductory Nike Air Zoom Generation, this royal rendition sees an icy outsole adding contrast to these never-before-seen sneakers.

Perhaps purple is the tone that will take fall as the styling of this pair is parallel to that of Travis Scott’s recently worn Air Jordan 4 of the same hue. More than likely, it’s just coincidence.

Check ’em out in full ‘fit fashion below.

LeBron James Breaks Out Nike LeBron 6 “Stewie” PE During NBA Finals Practice

LeBron James has been absolutely locked in during the 2018 NBA Finals. Speaking with regards to both on-court performance an off-court aesthetics, the latter leaps to greater heights today when Bron laced up another rare sneaker for practice.

Before Game 3 tomorrow evening, James today gave us a look at the long-lost Nike LeBron 6 “Stewie” PE. A whimsical style with vibrancy and character not often seen in execution today is a clearl reference to Stewie Griffin, the foul-mouthed baby genius from the animated sitcom, Family Guy.

The shoe is one of the many that after the Air Zoom Generation and LeBron Solider 1 retros rank high on the list of Nike LeBron signatures we hope to see retro soon. Grab a closer look below and stay tuned for what James pulls out for Finals practice ahead of Game 4.

LeBron James Dons “Bootleg” Chucks with Nike Swoosh from Chinatown Market

Before Game 2 of the 2018 NBA Finals during a practice session, LeBron James laced up something very unexpected. It was a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors. This is relatively normal considering the brand is a subsidiary of Nike who houses his signature collection. The unexpected element is the branding on said Chuck.

The one-of-one “bootleg” custom for James was a black Chuck featuring a smiley face and, more importantly, a Nike Swoosh. Produced by Mike Cherman of Chinatown Market, the parody themed shoe plays on juxtaposing symbolism. Black canvas construction and Sail colored midsole tooling are customary for the Converse staple. Yet its the branding seen on other foundational items that flips the ideology on its face.

Take a closer look at this custom below.

A Young LeBron James Anoints Himself as the “Chosen 1″ in New Nike Ad

Miraculously, LeBron James is about to enter his eighth consecutive NBA Finals appearance, and ninth overall. While the feat won’t sway Michael Jordan acolytes in determining who’s the GOAT, any true hoops fan has to acknowledge LeBron’s greatness: he was on the court for nearly every minute of the final two games against Boston in the Conference Finals, during which time he amassed an astounding 81 points, 18 assists and 26 rebounds.

And now that the NBA Finals are under way, Nike has released a new ad celebrating the King. Directed by Hiro Murai, best known for is his brilliant work on Donald Glover’s FX show Atlanta, the clip depicts a teenage LeBron stepping into a Las Vegas tattoo parlor in 2002. While the artist is dubious, the teen displays no hesitation in requesting “Chosen 1″ getting permanently inked on his body. The message is clear: LeBron has always been two steps ahead of us mere mortals.

John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon // Closer Look

Calling an audible but perhaps not unexpected, King James is elevating and revamping his retro line before it truly takes form via the John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon.

Donning DNA from the LeBron 8, said to be Elliot’s favorite LeBron model, a closer look at the White/Black colorway sheds new light on the construction.

Top to bottom, the shoe features a leather tongue with inverted branding. From there, a myriad of overlays make the model more interesting but perhaps cause confusion — not necessarily in a bad way, though. A fused upper results in a rounded but still sharp shape, set off the most by sewn overlays on the heel and toe box. Lastly, a full-length Air Max unit and translucent outsole cap off the kicks.

Menswear designer John Elliott took to social media recently to reveal a new Nike collaboration centered around an all new Lebron James signature shoe. Dubbed the Icon, the lifestyle silhouette features striped translucent paneling throughout the upper, complemented with an embroidered Swoosh on the vamp and a full-length Air sole unit borrowed from the Nike LeBron 8. According to Elliott himself, the white-on-white colorway pictured here is a friends-and-family release, while the white and black pair seen on the feet of King James will see a retail launch in August. Apparel and accessories will accompany the kicks. Stay tuned for details.

Here’s How John Elliott Wore His Nike LeBron Icon Collab

John Elliott is best known for designing clothes, but he’s also pretty well known for wearing them.

The man managed to show his affinity for both last night as he donned his own John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon while attending Game 4 of Cavs vs Celtics series.

From head to toe, JE kept it both basic and interesting. A backward Yankees fitted was worn as expected with perhaps the statement piece being a tie-dye oxford as if Jerry Seinfeld listened to Jerry Garcia. From there, cut off jeans set the stage for black crew socks juxtaposing the sail sneakers.

LeBron James Debuts Collaboration with John Elliott

It’s safe to say LeBron James and John Elliott are fans of each other.

The former who makes his living on the hardwood has arrived to work many a time this season in offerings from the designer ranging from sporty basics up top to lifestyle takes on famous footwear gems from Nike. Dressed for success, the King knighted tonight’s Game 4 arrival by debuting a new shoe from JE and Nike that’s got DNA from LeBron’s line itself.

Confirmed as the John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon, this new model is a drastic departure from Elliott’s work on the Vandal and the Air Force 1. A 3/4 cut upper screams basketball from a Sportswear sense, with retro tongue branding and technical tooling echoing such sentiments. As far as design goes and how it relates to LeBron, a full-length Air Max sole offers a direct reference to the LeBron 8 with upper details conjuring the construction on the LeBron 8 V2.

While Cavs fans certainly don’t want to see LeBron taking it back to 2010 as far as footwear or anything else is concerned, it’s definitely dope to see Elliott referencing something so recent and LeBron himself debuting it. Just the same, the designer took to IG to show the shoe in a blank tonal take.

As you may recall, it was last season’s late postseason play when LeBron and KD debuted Virgil Abloh’s at that time upcoming Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Low collab. Perhaps a fall launch is in store for these, too.

Just the same, LeBron took All-Star Weekend to wear Ronnie Fieg and Kith’s take on his LeBron 15, another example of Nike expanding the LeBron brand to lifestyle and King James enjoying his status in fashion.

Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for release details regarding the John Elliott x Nike LeBron Icon. To see what’s in John Elliott’s wardrobe, click here.

In its original early-aughts incarnation, Nike’s “SVSM” colorway of LeBron James’ signature Air Zoom Generation was a highly coveted PE, featuring an appealing blend of white, green and gold hues paying tribute to Bron’s alma mater, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School of Akron, Ohio. Roughly 15 years later, the shoe is finally set to release at retail, with all the original design details left intact. Check out close-up looks in the gallery below and expect the kicks to drop May 26th through select retailers.
