The Nike Zoom Kobe VI Club Purple/Varsity Maize “Gradient” is a shoe that has been heavily debated on this past week. This relatively new concept features a very unique look, sporting a gradient of varsity maize paint traveling from the medial face to the lateral face of the shoe. This yellow tone plays second fiddle to the club purple base tone, which is used liberally on the snakeskin textured upper. As you can see, the pair is finished off with a clean white side-panel Swoosh, which can also be seen on the midsole and heel-cup. Check out more images below and let us know if this is a must-cop for you.

2011 has already seen a plethora of Nike Air Max 95 colorways release with great success. Today, another pair debuts for the first time that follows in the same footsteps of AM95s. In addition to multiple shades of grey appearing on the upper, as well as hints of black suede, the only color that stands out is the varsity maize used on the lace eyelets and 360 degree Air Unit. Look for this pair to release at most Nike Sportswear retailers later this year.

The OG Grey color gradient on the Nike Air Max 95 made the running shoe one of biggest ‘collectible’ sneakers of the 90′s. Such a groundbreaking design and jaw-dropping flagship colorway made ownership of multiple pairs a valid way to spend money. The Grey/Yellow is one colorway we haven’t seen in ages, but this September, you’ll have the opportunity to cop ‘em. Of course, you can go to Nike iD and make your own OG-inspired Air Max 95s, but wait ’til September for these to drop and check out the new images while you’re at it. via sole-patrol.

The Nike Trainer 1.3 Max has, seemingly out of nowhere, become one of the more exciting trainers from Nike in recent memory. Between the Jerry Rice PE’s, the EA Sports collabo, and the just plain nice colorways like the Volt edition, this sneaker is making a strong case for itself. We’ve got another one to add to the list, this white and black colorway that gets boosted by the sections of purple on the tongue, lining, and Max Air outsole. That bubbly bottom combined with the breathable side panels make the Nike Trainer 1.3 Max truly versatile as any good trainer should be. Continue reading for more photos, and head over to Eastbay to cop a pair.

Nike Sportswear wants to add just a brief pause to your response when you hear “Yo, did you see those new Forces?” this summer. The Air Force 1 is still rolling strong, but joining it in NSW’s classic b-ball rotation this year is the Nike Sky Force ’88 Mid in a variety of colorways ranging from simple yet modern two-toned looks to straight-up vintage designs. This above pictured colorway is somewhere in the middle, its white pure from a lack of pre-yellowing and yet, its Green Bay Packers-leaning colorway certainly a shout-out to the classic aesthetics contemporary to this model’s 1988 debut. Click through for some more shots, let us know how these compare to the Knicks and Bulls editions (among others) and stick with Sneaker News for word on the US release date. via Titolo

Any model compared to 1999′s legendary ‘Wu-Tang Clan’ Nike Dunk High is done so like a double-edged sword. One one hand, the similarity to an all-timer is flattering and can help to build interest, though some purists might be disappointed. So what say you on this new Dunk High in this reverse Varsity Maize and black getup we might refer to as ‘Un-Wu’ or perhaps ‘Uw-Tang’. No matter the name, this is a shoe that’ll draw looks from those in the know, not to mention the attention-grabbing appeal of the high-contrast colorway. Click though to see more and look for these at select Nike Sportswear retailers like Switzerland’s Titolo.

The LIVESTRONG collection, the collaboration between Nike Sportswear and Lance Armstrong, was a distinct set of releases as a result of the immediately recognizable color combo that Lance was repping at the time. While those killer releases have come and gone, these Air Max 90′s certainly would have been right at home with the other gear from that pack, with the colorway of Black/Varsity Maize/White/Medium Grey looking instantly familiar. We first hit you with a preview of these Nike Air Max 90′s a couple months back and they are impacting slightly before our predicted July release date. This past weekend, Ludacris rocked the crowd at Sun Life Stadium following the Florida Marlins 9-5 loss to Arizona Diamondbacks. During Luda’s show, which probably had a larger attendance than any Marlins home game this season, the ATL-based hip-hop artist broke out the Air Jordan XIII Low White/Black-Maize for the performance. It looks like the Atlanta rapper/actor keeps a fresh pair on standby as he was recently spotted wearing the Air Jordan III ‘Doernbecher’ and Air Jordan XX3 ‘Titanium’ among others, and this release from 2005 is certainly noteworthy enough to get our attention. Check out Ludacris’ Air Jordan XIII Lows after the jump and let us know what you think.

Never content to rest on their achievements, Nike Sportswear took the Nike Air Maxim 1 update a step further in 2010. NSW added three-layer Torch mesh material to the toe and ankle collar of the Maxim to create the Air Maxim 1 Torch, the initial colorway of which was a black and Varsity Maize look not all that different from the classic LIVESTRONG palette. And while they weren’t an official LAF collaboration, this new sample version proves that they could have looked even more the part. This Air Maxim 1 Torch features a full yellow midsole to remove all traces of white and really looks the part of a LIVESTRONG release. Maybe we’ll see something else like it in the future, but for now these are dead and buried save the US mens size 9 sample currently available from dballaholic on eBay.

Featuring Varsity Maize on the midsole, laces and Nike log, while black works its way through the rest of the shoes. The Air Jordan Phase 23 Hoops has seen its fair share of NBA Playoff action, but here’s a new pair that’s something of a fan-exclusive. You won’t be seeing the Varsity Maize Phase 23 on TV because none of the remaining teams have uniforms that’d make their attention-grabbing colorway ahere to the league’s dress code. So when you hit your local streetball court in these this summer, real basketball fans will notice that you’ve the same AJ2010 Team-style perforations, ATCII-derived Lava pattern and forefoot strap that Ray Allen and Joe Johnson have been wearing. Click through for more angles and then grab the latest Phase 23 Hoops colorup from FinishLine well ahead of the previously slated June drop date.
