Jeremy Scott has been doing the animal inspired thing for adidas Originals for a minute now, but if you’re looking for a pair without all kinda wild additions hanging off the edges, then the Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ might be the one for you. Showing up on a classic shell-toed silhouette, the design here is a bit of a cross-breed with the leopard print horse hair matched with the scaly snakeskin of the side stripes. 2011 was certainly a big year for this sort of safari’d out sneaker, so can models like the Kinetics x adidas Originals Superstar 80s ‘Animal’ help carry the trend in 2012? adidas Originals Rod Laver Vin Lux – Spring/Summer 2012 | size? UK Exclusive
A quick raid into the vast archive vault of adidas Originals, its designers came away with several classic models to serve as the label’s central theme for 2012. As such, the adidas Originals Rod Laver Vin Lux is the first among the 2012 collection to be available. Created in conjunction with tennis great Rod Laver, the adidas Originals Rod Laver debuted in 1970 and quickly became a fan favorite. While its Running White/Fairway Green iteration was by far the most popular one, it wasn’t the original design. Instead, that honor falls on this design of Black/Black/Running White colorway, exclusively available now at UK’s size? retail chain.
Jeremy Scott x adidas Originals in Super Bowl Halftime Show
Reebok was the official outfitter of the NFL ending this season with the Super Bowl, Nike will take over starting next season, but adidas Originals was front and center stage alongside Madonna for what is undisputedly one of the greatest Super Bowl Halftime Shows ever.
The first glimpse of adidas came in the opening song, “Vogue”, where one of the backup dancers wore a special, made for stage, pair of Jeremy Scott x adidas JS Wings 2.0s covered in crystals. The shoes immediately generated conversation on twitter followed by even more talk when Jeremy Scott’s “Music Note” adidas track suits were worn by dancers during “Music.” While the shoes are not available for purchase, the track suits are available at select boutiques part of Jeremy Scott‘s new Spring 2012 collection with adidas Originals.

adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott Wings 2.0 ‘Old Glory’ – Now Available
Dropping alongside the Denim Wings is the updated version of the originals, the Wings 2.0.
Ditching the clean white-on-white colorway of the 2NE1 collab, this pop art-inspired, winged version of the adidas Attitude is decked out in a stars and stripes motif with red and white stripes adorning the left shoe while the right shoe features blue with white stars.
Dubbed “Old Glory”, this Wings 2.0 is available alongside the rest of the collection for 0 from adidas.
adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott Leopard Tail – Now Available
Rounding out this first set of drops from the adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott Spring/Summer 2012 collection is the Leopard Tail.
Also built upon the Attitude, these feature a faux-fur leopard print upper complete with a leopard tail, furry three stripes and faux-fur lining.
Already sold out at many locations, adidas still has almost a full size run on tap for 0.
adidas Originals by David Beckham ZX 800 ‘Grey Rock’ – Now Available
Hitting adidas spots this weekend is the first drop from the adidas Originals by David Beckham Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Coming in the form of an updated version of the 1980s ZX 800 runner, these James Bond assisted kicks feature an upscale look in sharp contrast to the original’s teched-out design. Sporting grey premium suede alongside white mesh and grey leather, the shoe sports hits of orange on the leather eyestay, laces, mesh tongue and midsole.
Completed with gold branding and a black outsole, the “Grey Rock” David Beckham ZX 800 is available now for 0 from adidas.
adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott MEGA Soft Cell Boots – Now Available
Joining the Pony Slim is arguably the craziest design we’ve seen from the adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott collection, the MEGA Soft Cell Boots.
Fusing the MEGA Soft Cell with a cowboy boot, the kicks feature a premium leather upper done up in black and white alongside debossed logos on the heel and tongue.
The crazy kicks are available now for 0 from adidas and select adidas Originals retailers.
adidas Originals Munchen – Spring 2012
Last time we gave you a look at the adidas Originals Munchen (aka Munich), we mentioned the timely nature of their return what with the 40th anniversary of the Munich Olympics going down this year. It looks like that was a birthday the Three Stripes team wasn’t going to let slide by, as the are ramping up retro treatment for this OG silhouette for Spring 2012. Furthering the nostalgic aspect, adidas Originals ordered up a custom version of the Leploop synthesizer based on the USA looking colorway from pack. adidas Originals ZX 8000 ‘Super Green’
In describing the most recent adidas Originals ZX 8000 release, we noted that they looked more like the Air Jordan VIII ‘Aqua’ than their own OG colorway with that same nickname. This latest release swings the pendulum back in the opposite direction, opting to vary from the original Eight Thousands by switching up the blocking pattern and trading blue for Super Green. The result is a springy mix that’s an egg insignia or some other little detail away from earning an ‘Easter’ nickname. The March release date seems perfectly timed with this in mind, and you can lock up your pair already with a pre-order today from Crooked Tongues.

adidas Originals AR 2.0 ‘All-Star’
Rounding out adidas’s releases for the 2012 NBA All-Star Game is a casual offering from the Originals line, the AR 2.0.
Inspired by the classic Forum Mid, the AR 2.0 rocks a vulcanized sole along with patent leather straps and an orange/navy colorway for this year’s game. Additionally, gold stars adorn the sockliner for the occasion.
