Off-White x Nike Air Presto “Polar Opposites” // Preview

After a surprise restock of round one, the Off-White x Nike Air Presto “Polar Opposites” appear next.

While Virgil says any “Grey” pair is in fact fugazi, our friends at Hypebeast and Flight Club have secured the “Black” and “White” — Polar Opposites, Yin and Yang — pairs said to be set for 2018.

More tonal than the 2017 take, both pairs rely on saturated uppers with contrast coming in the form of branding and tagging. An inside-out theme is present once again with the tongues literally foaming at the mouth.

Some say these shoes will release on June 21st though Abloh or Nike are yet to comment on that. For the time being, preview each pair below.

Diamond Supply Co. x PUMA Abyss // Preview

Tiffany tones shine in a manner never seen before on the ultra interesting Diamond Supply Co. x PUMA Abyss.

Somewhat scuba in styling, the high cut sock-styled upper sports zipper construction reminiscent of the adidas Yeezy Boost 750 while the profile is almost in line with the Under Armour Curry 4. Laces prove unnecessary, making this progressive style a standout in what’s otherwise been the year of the Suede.

Previewed by Nicky Diamonds himself, the shoe is said to be coming soon. Get an early look at the shoe in the shots below.

L’Art de L’automobile x OFF-WHITE x Nike Zoom Fly SP // Preview

What do car guys know about sneakers, anyway? It looks like they know more than one would think as we get a look at what appears to be a custom OFF-WHITE x Nike Zoom Fly SP specially made for the “Kar” designers at L’Art de L’automobile.

Not only skilled in design, but also in flexing for the ‘gram, @lartdelautomobile posted a photo on the social media platform this past weekend, casually donning a pair of the original OFF-WHITE x Nike Air VaporMax, holding a pair of Nike Zoom Fly SPs.

A post shared by L’Art de L’automobile KAR (@lartdelautomobile) on

What sets this colorway apart, aside from opting for an all-black look, is the use of a Flyknit upper, featuring at least one sizeable blue dot and two white ones. On the laces, we see a pattern resembling tire tread, as the trademark OFF-WHITE “FOAM” gets printed on the midsole with some help from a gradient stripe.

As is usually the case for kicks like these, there’s no word on if/when they will drop, so until then, let us know what you think about them and if they’re something you’d rock.

Image via: IKEA

Image via: IKEA

IKEA is continuing its youth movement, kicked off last month with its SPÄNST collection alongside Stampd. Similarly marketed toward millennials, IKEA’s upcoming MARKERAD collection with Virgil Abloh is still in its prototype stage, but that hasn’t stopped the partners from offering a sneak peek at their joint effort. The preview took the form of a YouTube livestream, in which Virgil and an IKEA representative strolled through a gallery space where some of the key pieces were featured. They include rugs and a new take on the IKEA Frakta bag, as well as a display case containing Virgil x Nike Air Prestos. There’s also a blonde wood Shaker-style chair, with one leg cut shorter than the other three, supported by a bright red doorstop to make up for its truncated length. More will be revealed at IKEA’s Democratic Design Days on June 7th; in the meantime, you can check out the livestream here.

Kanye West Gives us a Preview of the Yeezy 1050 Boot

Kanye West adidas Yeezy 1050 Boot

Kanye West took it to social media to showcase a sneak peak at concept designs of the Yeezy 1050 Boot.

The Yeezy 1050 made it’s first appearance back in 2016, when the Chicago rapper was designing his Yeezy season 3 collection. Kanye explained that the boot is still a work in progress, but that didn’t stop him from unveiling two mock up designs of the fabled Yeezy Boot.

At the time this was written, there was no information regarding the release of this Boot, but Yeezy fans are suggesting that Kanye is foreshadowing the release of this sneaker later on. Below you can check out a few more images and make sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

Ralph Steadman x Nike Air Max 180 // Preview

Riffing off Travis Scott ties and his recent work on the collaborative Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho cover visual, the Ralph Steadman x Nike Air Max 180 sees the acclaimed artist revisiting his taste surrounding that of the Air Max lineage.

Coming off a pair of collaborative kicks with Vans, the OG best known for his work on Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas cover sees the icy white “Ultramarine” Air 180 redressed into a taupe take. Conveniently, this derelict menswear move is not far off from how a pair of the OGs would look over years in the elements.

To cap it all off, art by Steadman from the original Air Max 180 campaign stamps the tongue for twice the timeliness and honest homage.

Previewed by a man of great taste himself, Easy Otabor, it is uncertain as to whether or not these will release. Until then, check ’em out below.
