Converse Skateboarding CTS + Trapasso Mid – May 2011 Colorways

Converse Skateboarding CTS + Trapasso Mid May 2011 Colorways

If you scroll through the ‘Sneaker News Categories’ list on the left side of this page, you’ll notice a variety of skate brands.  Nike SB draws inspiration from pop culture and the Swoosh’s own vast history, DC Shoes is known for their hardcore tech-oriented designs, Supra matches the rebellious spirit of rock-n-roll with the freshness of hip-hop without making you throw up like Limp Bizkit; so what exactly is Converse Skateboarding’s identity?  Classic all-American goodness, just like the sight of Nick Trapasso grinding a long handrail.  Trapasso’s signature is back this month in white, leaving the khaki that colored his most recent release to the Chuck Taylor Skate, and both of these simple if elegant styles are now available at select CONS retailers like Premier.

adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc – Green – White

adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc Green White

Tim O’Connor has seen his name printed in gold foil on the sides of several adidas Skate Campus Vulc colorways, so it’s something of a surprise to see this particular pair ‘blank’ as far as that goes.  And you might also think that a lush green suede colorway like this would be perfect to release in March to coincide with St. Patrick’s Day and O’Connor’s own apparent Irish heritage, but then again, skateboarding isn’t about following rules.  It’s a sport that takes personal expression as a key value and what better way to do that than with a bright green pair of sneakers?  Click through to see more of the latest Campus Vulc colorway and grab yours from select retailers like Flatspot.

Converse Skateboarding Trapasso Mid – Beige – White

Converse Skateboarding Trapasso Mid Beige White

Paul Rodriguez was one of the youngest skaters to secure a signature sneaker deal with a major brand when he signed with Nike SB, but few have ever done it at an earlier age than CONS rider Nick Trapasso.  Nick was only 21 when his Converse Skate Trapasso Mid hit retailers last summer but his namesake sneaker has a timeless design.  Somewhere between the immortal Chuck Taylor All Star and the Star Player, these new Trapassos go for a super-neutral look, their beige suede uppers giving way to white chevron-and-star logos on the side panels, just a hint of red coming in on the foxing band.  Click through to get a better look and grab yours from select Converse Skateboarding retailers like Premier.

adidas Skateboarding Ronan – Black – Grey – White

adidas Skateboarding Ronan Black Grey White

Pete Eldridge joined adidas Skateboarding back in 2009 and just like fellow Jersey guy Tim O’Connor, Eldridge’s signature sneakers have become part of Three Stripes’ recurring skate lineup.  The latest adidas Ronan is done in a colorway as simple as the spring 2011 releases from earlier this year, though they come off quite a bit differently thanks to a new blocking pattern that sees grey suede on the toe with black taking over for the rear sections.  White cup sole and gold foil stamped on the lateral side and heel keeps the classic adi-style alive and you can find these at adidas Skate shops around the country including Premier.

adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc Mid – Navy – Gum

adidas Skateboarding Campus Vulc Mid Navy Gum

Tim O’Connor is ‘All In’ with adidas Skateboarding and while you might look at his name and expect a March release of his signature sneaker to come in green, white and orange, this new drop is even more satisfying without the gimmicks.  The latest adidas Skate Campus Vulc Mid with O’Connor’s name printed in gold on its side panels comes with a blue suede construction held together by white contrast stitches plus a gum brown vulcanized sole for maximum board feel.  These are essentially Three Stripes’ answer to the Nike SB Blazer High, so it begs the question, which do you prefer?  Click through to see more of Tim O’Connor’s latest Campus Vulc and grab yours today from Premier.

adidas Skateboarding – April 2011 Releases

adidas Skateboarding April 2011 Releases

adidas Skateboarding is All In and while this new collection of footwear doesn’t represent their entire team of riders, it’s certainly a formidable set that includes many of Three Stripes Skate’s heavy hitters.  We’ll start with longtime adidas repper Mark Gonzales, whose new adiEase colorway misses the vintage Phillies look by the extent to which its scarlet accents are separated from burgundy.  The next two come in with super-simple white-on-black suede designs, a new Dennis Busenitz pro model and the Campus Vulc Lo.  Last but not least is an equally subdued Columbia blue adidas Skate, alternately known as the ‘Gonz’ for its affiliation with Mark, yet these omit his name in the typical gold foil in favor of clean as can be white Stripes and sole.  Click through to see the entire set and look for these now at select retailers like Politics.

adidas Skateboarding Is All In

adidas Skateboarding Is All In

As is the case with the entire Brand With the Three Stripes, adidas Skateboarding is ‘All In’.  We’ve seen the rapid-fire TV spot with that same name receive a two-minute build out that featured more of their stylings and now the brand’s grinders are given a promo video all their own.  This video details some of the exploits of adidas Skate stars like Mark Gonzales, Dennis Busenitz and Silas Baxter-Neal killin’ it in the beautiful Brazilian cities Sao Paolo and Rio de Janiero in what figures to be something of a prelude to Three Stripes’ eventual domination of the latter come the 2014 World Cup.  Click through to watch the video in its entirety and stick with Sneaker News for the latest adidas Skate releases.

Converse Skateboarding Spring 2011 Footwear @ Premier

Converse Skateboarding Spring 2011 Footwear @ Premier

Converse Skateboarding continues to impress with its simple if elegant takes on skate sneakers and this latest run offers just the right mix of vibrant and subdued to echo today’s fashion trends.  Let’s start with the model that riders have been wearing before most of today’s skate sneaker companies existed, the Chuck Taylor as CTS Mid in a black canvas getup whose red and blue accents add a blacklit feel.  It’s as if that kick’s a long night of partying and then the Anthony Pappalardo Pro Model comes in with a gold suede construction that finds its sunny shade applied as accent hits on a lowtop for Jeff Trepasso.  Trepasso also gets a vivid purple suede pair to round out the set, all of which just became available at Michigan’s Premier.

Converse Skateboarding Spring 2011 Releases

Converse Skateboarding Spring 2011 Releases

We saw a few new Star Players and Sea Stars last week but what else does Converse Skateboarding have in store for spring 2011?  Well you just gotta expect CONS is coming through with something Chuck Taylor related, and indeed, the CTS (Chuck Taylor Skate) comes through with two new colorways inverting each other’s blocking of black and red.  New Anthony Pappalardo Pro Models in yellow/black and beige/white both have a vibrant, springy feel while Nick Trapasso’s signature goes for a Sacramento Kings-style suede colorway.  Click through to see the entire set and look for these at select CONS retailers this week.  via HB

Converse Skateboarding KA-ONE – Fall 2011

Converse Skateboarding KA ONE – Fall 2011

Kenny Anderson was one of the original Converse Skateboarding team members, joining all the way back in 1997.  It’s crazy to think One Star’s skate division pre-dated Nike SB, but when you consider how long the parent brand has been pumping out quality kicks, you might have to reconsider.  And with that extensive legacy, the CONS KA-One has quite a lot to live up to.  These lowtops seem to borrow heavily from the Nike SB Zoom Bruin, from the general shape all the way down to that distinctive tongue stitch.  The first two colorways in tonal grey or black/white are timeless and just as easily could have released during KA’s first stint with CONS, but we’re glad they’ll be available soon as part of the fall 2011 collection. via HS.
