Exciting new Ultra Boost 3.0 iterations are in line for the ladies this summer, including this standout option in “Icy Blue.”
Just one of the many UB 3.0 the fairer sex will have to choose from in the months to come, this sky blue Primeknit pair is lightly blended with white while a tonal midfoot cage joins a darkened heel counter.
The adidas Ultra Boost 3.0 “Icy Blue” is expected in stores this July.
More 0 Air Jordan 5’s, you ask? Yes, more of those. But this new pair releasing in summer offers a certain newness its predecessors don’t.
When considering the “Take Flight” pair in Olive and the Pure Platinum release this weekend, they fall under a certain aesthetic umbrella that the Air Jordan 5 PRM “Triple Black” does not. Here, the reimagined Air Jordan 5 is coated in a thick black leather with deconstructed mesh windows fashioned with ribbing that corresponds with the shoes tongue construction. Additionally, the tongue itself seems shorter — possibly in efforts to allow the “Flight” scripted lace lock that rest just below some shine.

Swedish furniture chain IKEA long ago revolutionized the concept of affordable, modern furniture that you assemble at home. Can the business model translate to other industries? That’s the question posed by sketch comedy troupe The Kloons, who imagine a world in which Nike sneakers are no longer manufactured in overseas factories with dubious working conditions. A corporate partnership with IKEA spawns NIKEA, the world’s first built-it-yourself shoe service. Rest assured, all parts are made in the USA, thanks to an assist from the US federal prison system. See how it works in the following video.

Sneaker culture is at its very best when diversity reigns. Karhu’s recent resurgence is not only central for the European-based runner brands longevity, but for the viability of the culture at large, and continued creativity that often stems from heightened competition.
Karhu today reveals that latest addition to their spring 2017 collection which highlights new variations of their Fusion 2.0 and Aria silhouettes. Inspired by their Finnish roots and the many travel destinations in the immediate region, the Fusion 2.0 sees its creative fuel derived from Porvoo; a worldly city that is home to many artists as well as vibrant red shore houses. This inspiration is seen through premium pigskin suede and overlaying nylon mesh panels.
The Aria seeks more historic design elements, pulling from OG running silhouette colorways that brand produced back in the 90s. A similar material execution is found here alongside specked midsole implementation and compression EVA cushioning.
Karhu’s new spring offering launches globally on Friday, April 21. Pairs can be found online here.

Characterized by bold outlines, color-blocking and imposing, over-the-top imagery, street artist duo Yok & Sheryo have been painting New York City’s walls for years. Originally from the other side of the planet in Australia and Singapore, they’ve found their home in the NYC graffiti scene — transforming walls, trucks and everything else in their way into stylized works of art with a look that can be attributed to their favorite childhood television cartoons.
Keen to see their process in action, HYPEBEAST met up with Yok & Sheryo in Brooklyn and challenged them to take us to the rooftops and find a spot to paint. The pair spent the afternoon covering a wall with a dragon inspired by their recent travels around the globe. adidas outfitted their escapades in the latest adidas NMDs.
Yok tested out the newest iteration of the NMD XR1 with R2 markings while Sheryo gave the NMD_R1 W a run. Watch the full video above to see the sneakers carry them across Brooklyn’s rooftops, and see their painting process in action. You can pick up the latest colors of the adidas NMD sneaker line at adidas.com.
