Its very name suggests that these won’t actually be used for skating and the premium construction with which they’ve been crafted is the kind of thing you’d rather preserve and enjoy for years than shred on a skateboard, but this new drop from Vans Vault does indeed connect directly to Off the Wall’s skate heritage. The Vans Vault Spectator gives us a hint that reminds the ‘#46′ Era deck shoe really is just a traditional Oxford, this similarly sleek silo having been crafted more in the style of a derby shoe. Tonal black and brown ‘hairy suede’ pairs both have ‘versatility’ written all over them, and both are available now at top-tier Vans stockists including their DQM teamup in New York, The General.

So already the Vans Vault Priz Lace II LX is off to a great start, this Sk8-Hi-derived silhouette ready to shine in its first trip to retail. This brown leather pair is a bit darker than we expected based on the aforementioned preview, but their visually apparent quality is sure to attract buyers who find their obvious charm overwhelming. The Van Doren Rubber Company’s original sneaker was 1966′s ‘#44′, a vulc-soled deck shoe whose popularity quickly led to the advent of the Slip-On. That model, in turn, was utilized as the basis for Vans’ first true skateboarding sneaker, the Era. So that first drop that we’ve come to know better as the Vans Authentic isn’t technically a skate design and with that in mind, it’s pretty easy to imagine these as ‘tennis shoes’. The neon canvas that covers the upper is a look you’ll be seeing roll by on longboards all over your city, so act fast to snatch these up at a bargain price from select Off the Wall retailers like Concepts.

Vans is pulling a bunch of classic patterns out of their nearly five decade-deep archives this year, and what started as a part of the Van Doren series celebrating Off the Wall’s founders is now a pleasant surprise that’s spreading to all corners of their summer catalog. The latest revelation is this Vans Vault OG ‘Palm Leaf’ Pack, which applies a vintage tropical two-tone print to two pairs each of the Vans Sk8-Hi and Era. These are expected in stores in June, around the same time as the decidedly plainer ‘OG’ Slip-Ons; which of these premium Vault releases is more likely to become a part of your summer sneaker rotation? via FNG

Rounding out the OG Packs from Vans Vault are two colorways of the Era LX.
Decked out in the same palm tree motif as the Sk8-Hi LX, the kicks once again come in black and white colorways, each with white rubber foxing, contrasting foxing stripes and a vulcanized rubber outsole.
Look for both of these summertime looks to hit dealers next month.

When the Van Doren brothers opened their namesake rubber concern in Anaheim some forty-six years ago, they would take orders in the morning, spend the day making those shoes and have them ready for customers by the afternoon. The success of the original #44 lowtop (later renamed Authentic) was strong enough to warrant a laceless variant, and the iconic Slip-On was born. Now, coming up for June 2012 is a four-pack of ‘OG’ Vans Vault Slip-Ons, canvas lowtops ranging from solid canvas uppers to Off the Wall’s signature checkerboard print. Click through and you’ll be able to see each pair, and be sure to check back with Sneaker News for release info. via FNG

Paul Van Doren’s namesake sneaker company has risen from humble beginnings in 1977 and plenty of hurdles along the way to become the world’s top skateboarding brand, and during this 35th anniversary year, Off the Wall celebrates their founder with a pack that’s even more connected to his name. The Vans Van Doren Series re-issues a run of classic prints from the ’80s and ’90s as seen on the ever-popular silhouettes that’s kept this brand popular for so long. Models like the Vans Sk8-Hi, Era and Slip-On come with intricate floral and native patterns as well as a Paul-ized heel badge; which one turned out to be the best looking after you had a chance to see them all on the other side? via FNG

Vans is celebrating twenty years producing Steve Caballero’s ‘second’ signature sneaker, a model he created himself by scissoring-off the top portion of the OG Caballero hightop’s ankle collar. Off the Wall even issued duct tape-collared 20th Anniversary Half Cabs in tribute to Steve’s original ‘design’, teamed up to drop a few collabo designs and is gradually releasing more pairs like this one pictured above to fill in the rest. These 20th anniversary Vans Half Cabs come in a rich forest green suede that’s contrasted by white laces/sole and a black liner, and you’ll find them available at the best Off the Wall retailers including their DQM-co-headlined store in New York, The General.
