Certainly no stranger to one another, American designer Mark McNairy and Kazuki Kuraishi from Heather Grey Wall get together to present a pair of Long Wing Tip Shoes. This isn’t the first time this year that the two have worked together; in January they released a Work Tailored Jacket and a pair of Cargo Pants that stood at the intersection of fashion forward and semi-formal, which is a balance McNairy continued with his Saddle Shoe releases earlier this month. These Wing Tips are built mostly out of premium dark grey suede material with contrasting wool inlays producing a design that truly reflects McNairy’s ability to breathe new life into classic silhouettes. A contrasting white Vibram sole attached using a Goodyear Welt technique, tonal laces, and a leather liner round off the look. These are available now at Heather Grey Wall’s shop. via: Eyescream

This reworked brogue wing tip shoe epitomises the approach of CASH CA designer Kazuki Kuraishi as he takes the classic Traicker’s silhouette and makes it his own. Featuring two colorways, grey and navy, both feature a suede upper highlighted by the use of a light brown leather ankle and piping, along with white laces and silver eyelets while the brogue motif applied to the toe completes a great design.

In 2005, Red Wing Shoes celebrated its centennial anniversary by crafting a size 638 ½ D (US) boot which resides in their flagship Red Wing Shoe Store in Red Wing, Minnesota. Aside from being blown-up in scale, the World’s Largest Boot was built using the very same design and materials used to build a traditional Red Wing 877. Measuring 16 feet high and 20 feet long, the boot destroys the largest shoe previously made for someone by the American icon, a 22, by a mere 616.5 sizes. Ultimately, it took 1,200 feet of rope to sew it all together, 300 pounds of adhesive, and 80 cowhides to cover, but the boot serves as a testament to the craftsmanship and unmistakable quality of Red Wing footwear regardless of size.
